As Matty said, unless taking photo's or needing/wanting to see your avi' in it's full glory...just have 'basic lighting' checked in that list and uncheck the rest. Also helps a lot when out and about shopping etc.

Oh don't fret. I have my CFM 'girlie' alt for that kind of thing IF I feel like dancing! 😁 She'll get more IM's asking to dance then she gets group notices for the cheap sales at weekends! In my opinion, you can't have one without the other. There may be varying scales of WHY you may be attracted to someone. I believe that, contrary to popular belief, everyone judges a book by it's cover and all 'attraction' has it's roots in whether or not we'd like to sleep with that person after everything else is out of the way. We may never do it, we may just have a dance, a few drinks and get a taxi home, but unless our brains decide "yeah...I'd jump that!", consciously or subconsciously....we don't make the move/respond well! The problems don't start with why you may be flirting, they start with how the other person translates it! Depending on the people involved and how well they may know each other or not, the chance of an awkward time is always on the horizon! IMO.

Expect my response to be something along the lines of - "Hi...um...do you speak English by any stretch of the imagination?"!

I'm going to start this post with a 'disclaimer*'. In my previous posts regarding Rhonda and her 'look', my opinions were based strictly on a straight male debating asking a straight female for a dance and the quite scary facial look being pretty off putting! However, having read further comments and seeing that Rhonda is more of a 'femdom' kind of girl with a lesbian bias...her 'look' is probably very appropriate. If the femdom thing was part of her profile (I've never checked), and I was into that thing, then I'd say her look was 'to be expected' and it wouldn't bother me asking her to dance if I thought we could get to know each other better! (Just wanted that off my chest). Onto Scylla's wonderings about how men might react to a woman asking him to dance. No idea....never been asked! lol To be fair, Outside of my old dancer/stripper experiences, I'm not the biggest club go'er, so there's that. However, I've always believed in RL as well as in SL, that any '1st contact' is purely based on attraction/sexual attraction, therefor it's hard not to think there's an ulterior motive behind any first move....for and by either sex!

Meh! I don't have those anymore, too much grief. My ex-SO would probably pay you to take me dancing these days....then threaten you with a gun if you still refused! Meeting a partner in SL, falling in love, moving Countries to be with one another, only to have it fail at the "7 year itch" stage (6 really)….can have that kind of effect on a girl it seems! 😄🙄

Well, I've never had a partner who thought so when catching me dancing with another girl except my mother or sister.....here or in RL! (and have the scar's to prove it!).

I think Kweopi and others are talking about individual people, not brands. Sort of like, If you passed a group of people while at say...Vista animations, and it consisted of the owners of Slink, Maitreya and Genus, would you know them more than you'd know me, Kweopi and BelindaN stood a little further down? Unlikely right? I don't believe "famous" exists in SL tbh, "Well known"?...yes. People become known for what they do and the amount of people who see/know them. Naria Panthar, Meela Vanderbilt and others, may be well known from their YouTube channels and blog's, as was Strawberry Singh/Linden, but anyone who doesn't watch/read those people don't have a clue who they may be stood next to in game. As a "noob" on these forums, there are poster's that will stick in my mind and if seen in game and I'll be like "ohh, there's such and such a body. Never thought I'd bump into them!", however, they'll be no more "famous" than coming across one of the girls/guys I knew way back in the day!
