Second Life on Smartphones and Tablets

I was thinking that Second Life could not only be on computers but could also be on tablets or smartphones like the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Do you think in the near future that can happen?

What problem, specifically, are you having with SL?  Computer specs and an accurate discription of the problem will give you the best chance for an answer that may solve your problem.

Yes, if you define 'near future' as 5 - 10 years.  Unlikely in 3 - 5 years and almost certainly nothing recognisable as SL sooner than that.

There are text-only clients for both the iphone and Droid.  On the Droid, look for Mobile Grid Client in the Android Market.  Not sure what the iPhone app is called...metaverse?

If you have an iPad or iPhone I know that you can purchase applications from the App Store. I have used both Pocket MV and Sparkle to access Second Life and, although they are very basic, they do allow you to instant message your friends and attend to very simple chores.
