Keli Kyrie
You go to any major retail store and all the Christmas Stuff is out already and it is not even Thanksgiving (U.S.) ...I know, I know they have been doing this to us for years and now some even start before Halloween. So I started thinking WHY FIGHT IT? Really if they are going “all-out” why shouldn't I? Christmas is a wonderful holiday and instead of being all upset about all the early hype why not jump on the bandwagon and join in the fun? I am going to start by putting up a tree in my SL home TODAY and start clearing some prims for some more decorations. Heck I might even start in RL too. What are your thoughts on the matter? While all our other friends or worrying about what to do for Christmas I will be worrying about what to do for your Birthday, and I won't take any crap for them like... I'll probably buy a SL tree within about a week or so. I'm only putting up stockings and a tree in my SL home as I already have fairy lights all over the place -- inside, so I have tons of lights all year. I love decorating with fairy lights all year in rl, too. I say go for it because a lot of people put up fake trees even before Thanksgiving as you don't need to water those kind and it saves a tree's life. My thoughts? I think you're a nut. But then I've thought that for some time. If I had my way, there'd be no Christmas decorations up before the Friday after Thanksgiving. So far that's not worked out so well for me. The current score is: Other People's Preference—Every Year, Dillon's Preference—Zero Years. I like that you're starting early, though. That way if I do see something I like I can just give it to you to put up and still maintain my Scrooge-ishness. That dress does look lovely. I may have to finally break down and modernize after all. Quinn Morani
But if you are all busy decorating for Christmas now so that you can plan a party for Sylvia's birthday later, how will you ever find time to plan a party for my birthday, which is only days away? As for early decorating, count me in with the bah humbuggers. I despise the commercialism of Christmas and to me, that's what the early decorating in stores symbolizes. One holiday at a time, please! Raven1 Short
The thing I don't like about early holiday stuff is that I get so sick of it by the time the actual holiday comes around.

Quinn Morani
Mine is the 9th. May not be inworld for a party this week though (but I'll try, I promise!), since I have 2 work trips coming up both within the next week. I already always have to do the group birthday thing at work, sharing with all the other November birthdays. Fun, of course, but not quite as special. DQ Darwin
Understand Quinn, we had planned for the 10th but considering what has happened to L we will back off for a bit and probably go with closer to my birthday the 23rd. Your right it is never as special, but still fun. Adds Seize and Bobbie to the list.............

Void Singer
I don't fight it, I ignore it.... ... as much as I can.... 2 months of crappy rehashes of crappy songs that were crappy when they were released, and more forced "cheerfulness" that a vat of disney movies.... Halloween the holiday of sugar, followed by christmas, the holiday of saccharine.
