Open your Search tool in your viewer and type in the word SANDBOX.   You'll get a huge list, so scroll down past the first 50 or so and you'll find one that is less busy that the popular ones at the top.   When you visit one, read its conduct rules VERY carefully so that you understand what's allowed.

The other thing you can do is join a group that owns land and will let you rez things there, often in a private sandbox.  Don'tjoin a group just for that reason, but when you find a group you like, see if it's a perk that they offer.

One can usually rez things in their home or on land they own or lease. In rented homes you have to have the land's group active. Landlords add you to a renters' group so you can rez furniture and stuff.

If you are buying things or picking up freebies, look around. Many stores and freebie shops have a rez area where you can rez packages and open them.

There are different types of sandboxes; public, private, and premium. Public sandboxes can be used by anyone. They typically have a short return time, which means anything left there will be returned to you on the next clean up cycle. It is a courtesy to clean up after yourself and not leave anything behind. After all the land owner was gracious enough to allow you rez things there.

Private sandboxes are typically for members of a land owner group. Many are for the renters of apartments and homes.

Premium sandboxes are for premium members. The outstanding benefit of premium sandboxes is reduced griefers. In general griefers use throw-away free accounts. That means they cannot get into premium sandboxes. 

All sandboxes have a return time. Return times range from a few minutes to a week. When items are returned you'll find them in your inventory in Lost and Found.

Finding land on which to rez objects

Hello Damianx and welcome to SL Forums. If you have no your own land, you can rezz at Sandboxes arround. You can find several of them here. You can find more if you use the search in world. Alternatively some land owners allow you to rezz in their regions if you join in the group there. The last case is to get your own land.
