Venus Petrov
You write 'viewers' in the plural. How many do you have installed? Do they each have their own separate cache folder? Did you try rebooting your router? ETA: From your first question in September, you never responded to the kind residents who tried to help you here. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/why-will-none-of-the-viewers-run-on-my-pc-when-they-did-just/qaq-p/1121641 It would help if you could keep your question in one area so we do not repeat ourselves trying to help you. Just a thought.
wolf24681488303198
they told me to post it here and yes none of the viewers will run we have ruled out overheat, graphics hardware, ram, ISP, network hardware
Venus Petrov
You did not answer my question. Peggy Paperdoll and others tried hard to help you resolve your issue not long ago. I will not repeat their suggestions here. Perhaps someeone else with the energy will. Good luck.
Ceka Cianci
i had this problem with a certain versian of kerstins ..her advice was to tatally uninstall all viewers with a clean frsh install..but also to do a total manual clean of all directories holding second life and tpv folders.. save your logs if you like..but pull everything out and just run the viewer or viewers that you run most..it's best to have them each in their own directories like one in programs and one maybe in my documents ..stuff like that... you could have a cache clashing with the others or something.. start out with just one viewer first though and then add another if you wish to use more than one type. any idea if this had started after adding a certain viewer? Jacki Silverfall
You still need to post your computer statistics as asked in the thread in answers,It makes it easier to know what we are dealing with. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/My-viewers-wont-open/qaq-p/1154191

Knowl Paine
I've read through your previously asked questions and it would help if you posted data about the machine type and it's age. Did you ever get the slplugin.exe working? Do you see it in your Firewall's allowed access list? Have you ever been Banned from SL? One day my graphics card was working the next day it was not. Electronic parts fail like that. At the time I purchased a $60 card and I was up and running in about an hour. Nothing on my pc told me it was the card. A Google search for causes of an "infinite loop" was a faulting graphics card. Check back and let me know your current status. I don't see replies with the browser I use, I have to click on a Resident's name to see replies, I only see post. fyi Edit: My event viewer in programs/accessories/administrative tools, had an entry in systems, I think, that said the monitor had been stuck in an inifinite loop and that it had done that 3x's. Knowl Paine
I'm not a computer mechanic and asking for specs was a request that may benefit techs who may read your post. I do have a question about is this 64 bit or 32 bit and there is a wiki article that explains problems or a solution for 64/32 operating systems. Maybe another Resident here will know. Trying to fish for answer. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Windows_7
wolf24681488303198
video card is ruled out other games as demanding or more so work just fine and slplugin.exe is on my firewall exception list and all drivers are up to date now that slplugin has been brought up its not being blocked by firewall but i noticed it dosnt run at all it never shows up in task manager but the viewer exe does for a second
Ceka Cianci
still using service pack one? has sl ever ran on your system before .. i didn't look in the other thread yet.. but is this a problem that just popped up or have you never been able to get it going yet? Cinnamon Lohner
SL requires OpenGL. Normally its part of the nVidea driver set so I was surprised not to see it on your list. --Cinn

Julia Emerald
Sorry for reviving a really old thread, however this worked for me. I had the same problem with several viewers (exodus, phoenix, and even LL's viewer). I would double click the icon, and nothing would happen. I turned off TeamViewer (from the system tray, right click icon and exit) and VOILA - my viewers now load without problems. Hopefully this helps someone else and thanks to the OP for helping me solve this frustrating issue!
