The answer I've just received from someone who seems to know what she is talking about because she appears to be associated with the platform (and who also is the owner of Burrows Coffee Co. in-world) is that it's a feature that is coming. Oh, I can see that being a problem for Photographers, bloggers or people who want to show off their avatars. I might use it, but if I do decide to shift my main focus from Flickr to Primfeed, I'll need to upgrade. I think you're right, though.
