Are you using a credit card (not a debit card, gift card, or bank card)?  Although many people can get a non-approved card type to work sometimes, there's no guarantee that yours will. Even if you've had success in the past, there's no guarantee that a non-approved type of card will continue to work.

My husband used a Debit Mastercard and successfully purchased lindens. That card expired and he got another Debit Mastercard. And now he can't buy lindene because it shows an error regardless of the fact that all the fields have been filled in successfully, there is an error. He is doing "Instant Buy. How can he replace the invalid card with a valid card so that he can successfully continue buying lindene?

The best answer is to get a real credit card, not a debit card. Some people have no trouble at all with some debit cards, but Linden Lab does not support them. As card may work for a long time and then, as you have discovered, may stop working when the issuer changes something or simply when the card is renewed.

The official word from Linden Lab is

As a note, some Residents might find that a prepaid debit card will work once for a one-time purchase, such as Linden dollars, but fails to work after that. This is generally related to limitations in how many prepaid cards are authorized for transactions, so a prepaid card might stop working even if there are funds available.

Some Residents without a credit card find PayPal to be an acceptable alternative, as there are ways to verify and fund a PayPal wallet that don't require a regular credit card, such as linking directly to a bank account. In general, when using PayPal as your method of payment without a credit card, adding funds to the PayPal account before using it in Second Life works best.

Most debit Mastercards are tied directly to a bank account and should work.  Prepaid, of course, will probably NOT work.

IN GENERAL:

Debit cards as in the ones tired to your bank account, sure.
Pre-paid cards you pick up at the store counter -- whether they are rechargeable or not -- do not work

There are exceptions to everything but not many.  You may have a bank debit card that does not work with LL's verification system for example.  But those are rare.

If the issue persists, contact billing.
