Why when i put a hair base on my avatar it do not show

A hair base will only show up if you have applied it to the head on your standard (default) body. If you're wearing a mesh head, you'll never see it.

Assuming you're using a default body/head, (the one you started with,) the hairbase should look like a little red dragon icon in your inventory.  If it's an APPLIER for a hairbase with a specfic mesh head such as Catwa, Genus, Lelutka in the name or OMEGA, you can not apply it to the default head.  Anything named APPLIER is for use with mesh body parts.

Mesh heads may or may not be Bakes on Mesh (BoM) enabled.

If the head is not, then system hair bases (with an inventory symbol of a little wig) will not work. Instead, you must use a HUD made specifically for that head by the creator of that hairstyle. Click the HUD to choose the hair color of the hair base.

If the head IS BoM enabled, then simply right click and wear any system hair base, and it should show up.

You may also be trying to apply an EvoX hairbase to a non-EvoX head or vice versa. If it's making weird patches on your face instead of just not showing up, that's what's happening. What head are you using?
