They were early, for sure, and appear in some of the early growth stages mapped in one of the many cartographic exhibits at Julianna Lethdetter's "New Kadath Lighthouse Art Gallery." (Specifically, this exhibit.)

While at the Lighthouse I also found an exhibit that answered my Teen Grid question: There was indeed a transition strip between the teen "Bay City" and their version of the Nova Albion regions.

EDIT: Well that's disappointing: the Forums software gobbles up the secondlife:// URIs, so here's the text of those links, which copy/pasted into the viewer will give object details so you can find the specific exhibits in the gallery:

I can't get those links to work, but I think i got this map from there:

Yeah, the links are tricky, and really only useful in chat or IM—sadly not in the addressbar of viewers I've tried. Anyway, here's a map link to the lighthouse gallery: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/New Kadath/34/58/23

The exhibit there includes several maps for 2002 and 2003 that show details of how the grid expand in those very early times. They may be available in the lighthouse somewhere, but you can also pick up some copies at my long neglected Tussock site, near http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tussock/117/191/111 (not including the handy Jopsy Pendragon one you found, which is very cool and is on display in New Kadath).

Sansara is my favourite, partly because of the immense history, but mostly because I have lived there since 2008 - initially in the Snowlands but from 2009 I moved to the southern lakes and I've been there ever since. More than 13 years and I still own the same parcel (along with about a fifth of the rest of the region, now 😆)

I would like Heterocea better if it didn't have the weird alien terrain textures.
