On Region Restarts:

RCs will, of course, be restarted this week. We're also expecting to restart Second Life Server regions a few at a time, because we weren't able to do our expected roll to the main channel due to BUG-230131.

So...This week it's the server version rolled to the RCs being rolled to Main Server regions?  That is a logical assumption but no more than an "educated guess" .

Was it too much trouble to make an announcement on this forum?

For heaven's sake LL, this is the place for it!

The post on the GSP told us that something was being done on Main Server but not WHAT.

A region that I have an interest in was running on RC server 2021-02-01.555570. On completion of today's [whatever it was] we're still running on the same server, so it looks like it was plain restarts on the Main Channel servers?

@OdaksYes.  I know it was Main Server...the point I was making (badly, it would seem) is that there WERE Main Server rolls, the GSP announced that, just not WHAT was being rolled, and there was nothing on this forum.

It looks like nobody at Linden Lab has a checklist.

I was following the reporting of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 14 on Twitter, and they could keep track of plans and bugfixes, using voice radio, over a quarter million miles. Yes, they had checklists, and they changed procedures to work around problems.

They didn't use JIRA...

But if you look at today's to-do list in grid status, you can understand if the writers of the messages are a bit overwhelmed. In any case, it is a good thing that they are now approaching the solutions to the problem individually.
