Mr Mason

How to view people I have IMed or met.

Question

Is there a way to view a list of people who I have recently IMed?

I messaged someone the other day, but did not get their calling card. I can't remember what their name was. If I could view a history of everyone I have met, I would probably recognize their name.

I'm using firestorm, if it matters.

In your viewer you can set a path to where IM logs are stored on your computer.Find that to see where the log is currently stored.

Perfect, thank you!

For quick reference to anyone that has this same question, to find where they are stored;

Can be found and changed in Preferences -> Network & Files -> Directories → Conversation logs and transcripts location.

There should be a little 'Open' button right next to it. From the Firestom wiki.

On the top menu of Firestorm... "Comm/Conversation Log"

that will only work if you actually enabled saving the logs

True! And thanks for pointing that out!  :)

Also, I think that applies to the other solution on this page?

For others who use the Second Life Viewer (a.k.a. LL Official Viewer) - the same is found in Preferences-> Chat-> - the setting is at the very bottom of the panel.

Because these forums should be inclusive of all SL users, not only elitist Firestorm users. (Yes, many FS users are very elitist greater-than-thou types, though I'm not accusing those in this thread of same.) LOL
