MIVIMEX
Hello! Please advise how to save resources when uploading a mesh at the expense of the shape of physics? which physics is better to use for objects that do not need physics at all, in particular, a rope and other small elements, and can it be done so that object do not have any physics at all when they are uploaded? thanks very much! A single triangle has 0.200 physics weight and is the most efficient physics shape available to meshes. A cube is a more common one though and it still only has 0.360 physics weight. Most good mesh makers have a ready made cube mesh they use and reuse ast the physics model for all meshes that don't need detailed physics. Only a few people who are obsessed with cotnent optimisation (Hey, don't look at me that way!) also keep a couple of single triangle meshes for physics. There are two ways to eliminate the physic for an object in SL. If it's part of a linkset, set the physics shape to "none". If it's a single object, check the "Phantom" checkbox in the build palette. Kyrah Abattoir
Yeah as ChinRey said I personally have two colliders that i use for things that don't need precise collisions, a plain smooth box, and a single triangle (aptly named "***** collider")
