Hello everyone! I am new to applying skins and am looking for a bit of help. I recently bought a  skin called "Baddies- Skin Body Appliers"   to work with my Slink Hourglass mesh body. I am still using the original second life head as I quite like how it looks. I do not own a mesh head. The skin applier says it is compatible with the Slink body but the skin only applies from the neck downwards. How can I get the skin to apply to my entire body, including my original head so that my entire avatar is the same color? I have searched for answers to this seemingly simple question but have had no luck. Pictures are included for clarity. Any help is much appreciated!

What you need is either (1) a skin package that includes both an applier for your body and a system skin for your head, or (2) an applier for your body and a separate system skin, in the same tone from the same designer, for your head. Looking at the Marketplace description for the Baddies skins, it appears the package only includes appliers, and it seems the creator does not sell system skins. So you can't use those skins on your head.

It seems that the Slink body includes a tinting HUD which allows you to add colour to the body skin you are wearing, and maybe get a closer match with your head, but your head skin will stay the same.

That's too bad that the skin I already purchased isn't suitable. I've just tried tinting the body skin using my Slink HUD but can't find anything that comes close to matching the head and neck skin. Any idea where I can find a skin package that will make my standard head and mesh body the same color?

You can still buy System skins at 7 Deadly s{k}ins, LAQ, Pink Fuel, Adam and Eve, League, and maybe WoW Skins.  All those places also have Body Appliers in the associated skin tone.  I know there are a few more, but drawing a blank at the moment.

Search the forums - we had a few posts about this not long ago.

ETA: Also Dulce Secrets and Stix.  Check 7 Deadly Skins current group join fee.  She drops it quite often.  If you are in the group, then there are lots of Midnight Mania boards and lucky letters and some of those will include the older skins and associated appliers.

I think the Slink bodies has a neck "sleeve" that's a tattoo layer. You use this to get a smoother transition from mesh neck to system head. But I haven't used a system head in years, so my memory is a bit Fuzzy. Maybe the mesh bodies stop to offer it.

The mesh body and system head as differnt number of triangles... is it that it's called? Anyway I remember it was discussed, it was so hard to get an invisible seam.

I say you will "never" get an invisible seam with that default light you have. Try Nams skin and prim, or another even light. Of course others who use ugly light will see the seam, but you can't help it. If they will use fuglylight.

This may be a situation when a subtle facelight is necessary.

I actually bought a new system skin  from 7 Deadly Skins the day I made this thread and wouldn't you know it, the head and body appliers do create a visible seam and noticeable color difference. I wish I would've waited to see this comment, would've saved me the hassle of a refund.  I also tried adjusting my wind light settings to what the staff member recommended (CalWL, or something similar) which didn't help... I wonder If I should try buying another system skin elsewhere or just bite the bullet and go with a new head? I've had my same head for years now and would be pretty sad to see it go... It's frustrating because I've wasted money on two skins now, I don't even know if I should buy a facelight at this point. I might just try the choker idea Little Me recommended. I do also appreciate everyone's recommendations for shops so far!
