What Does "Edit Profile" Do? Where Does This Information Appear?

Recommended Posts

I'm confused. I notice that when you select "Profile" from the user name drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the Second Life Community webpage, then select "Edit Profile", you are given the following text window to fill out:

But, I cannot figure out where this information actually appears on your profile. Where do other people see this information? Can anybody explain this to me? Thanks!

The "About Me" tab on your forum profile.

When I read that, I had no clue what you meant.  I went to your profile and Vanity's profile and couldn't find an About Me tab.  So then I edited my profile and typed something into the About Me section.

After saving my test text, it my page suddenly had an About Me tab:

Without any 'About Me' text:

You're right! I can't see any tabs on other people's profiles, but the "About Me" tab is visible on mine own.

That seems backwards to me.

Seeing the tab on your own profile implies you typed something there.  So yes, definitely backwards or just plain messed up if nobody else can see it.
