Do these skybox rental companies buy waterfront land and they don't actually use it?

And why is LL selling 1024 sq.m parcels on full abandoned regions... they person buys a tiny portion of the region closet to the water deeming the rest of the region useless... why not auction the whole region or sell directly to someone who will actually use the whole region.

why is a region with so many more land useless? Nearly nobody buys a full mainland region, selling it in parts will have more chance.

why not? everybody can do with his land what he wants, as long it's not violating TOS, guidelines and maturity levels

Maybe they want to buy the land on the opposing side of the river too? After all, with them moving in the prize just dropped ;)

The land value around them does drop. It sucks seeing so much useful waterfront regions empty and not enjoyed because all the skybox companies.

it's more likely to be bought by a land barron, cut up into chunks and then set for sale / rent.

No the full region(s) are abandoned. The individual(s) put in a request to LL to buy a 1024 sq.m of that abandoned region on the coast end. Leaving the rest of the region abandoned. THEN they sell the 1024 that they purchased from LL.

You cant sell it in parts if the water access is blocked... deeming it useless. That is why there is so much abandoned land behind a small house that is blocking the water access.

and why isn't that posisble? 99% of the land isn't open to water, land is land.

And no it's not the reason there's so much abandoned land.

Water side is only interesting if you like boating or a special view... also, when you go look at the existing waterfronts... it's the most ugly parts of SL possible, it's mostle a real mess of crappy build, huge parcelscreens and nobody giving acces to anything else than it's own parcel.

so what? they cán.

If you'r so touched, you can buy the other parts of the sim, simply ask LL for it.

You must be a very miserable person, honestly. You seem to only message to be argumentative. Or are you in your 20s and think you know everything? Either way you can respond back all you want. I am not going to entertain you.

I don't mind you don't respond, give ONE reason why you post this subject... you make no point other than a glimps of annoyance and jealousy  that others play with land. And stating nonsense about unsellable sims.

And don't message to be argumentative, but you make no point in this post. ( and there is none)

The reason why there is so much abandoned land is because people either can no longer afford the fees or they simply stop paying for the land, Those in the former will just abandon the land or put it up for sale before the fees are due to try and recoup some money and abandon just before they are due if it doesn't sell. Those in the latter if the owner vanishes and stops paying or the land group doesn't have enough donated tier to cover the land fees LL will eventually come along take back the land clear it out and set it as abandoned if there are multiple neighbouring abandoned plots in a sim a Linden may come along and consolidate all the plots in to one single abandoned plot. I don't think someone wanting a waterfront plot has any baring on why the rest of the sim has not been made available for sale or auction

That makes a lot of sense. Iv'e just noticed that happening more often. Full abandoned regions then suddenly a small portion next to the water has been sold directly from LL to a resident. I wonder why they just don't auction the whole region as one. There are plenty of buyers who would buy a whole waterfront region. Whether they are land barons who will then break it up into smaller parcels to rent out or airports, marinas, etc who just want waterfront regions. Whose going to buy the back of a waterfront region when all the water access has been blocked. Perhaps that is why they stay abandoned and not requested for purchase.

Which adds to the sea of abandoned land. I get why inland and mountains are always scare and nearly all abandoned but waterfronts... connected to Linden water... the land directly behind the small parcel house stays abandoned.

actually inland mountains could be nice if they have road access...

maybe a job for the LDPW...

Haha I think that same thing everutime  I've looked at them. They have so much potential! I love mountains. There is one continent that has mountains with Linden roads it it is really pretty.
