How can I change the name of my new island? Inspiration came a bit late.

You can submit a ticket on https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ anytime for a name change but there is a charge for it. If you had done it during the transfer then it would have been included in the Transfer fee, so that kind of sucks if it you only just got it. Maybe try asking on LiveChat before you do the ticket if its possible to get it free if the transfer only happened in the last few days.

If it was a new one from LL and not a transfer from another resident and you chose the current name I doubt there is much chance of a free change.

Yes you can but it will cost you $50.

Can I rename my Private Region?

Yes. There is a US$50 charge to rename your island. The new name must fall under the Guidelines for Private Region Naming.

To get the process started, submit a support ticket stating that you would like to change the name, and that you accept the fee.

Private Region names are granted at the sole discretion of Linden Lab.

Btw, only the owner of a private island can pay to have the region name changed. If you are renting a homestead sim, for example, you can only change parcel names within the region, not the region name.
