Blocking

Is there a way to be totally invisible   to someone that is blocked?  would derender stop people from seeing others on line?

i have a friend that I know is online but when I go to there profile in world it shows they r off line.

how is that possible?

Im trying to hide completely from someone.

You cannot hide whether you are on line. Anyone can figure that out with a very simple script -- it's public knowledge. It doesn't make any difference whether the person is on your friends list and whether you have clicked the button that makes your status visible to friends.  The only thing that you can hide is where you are on the grid.

You cannot totally hide it, but you can come close.  You can set all of your friends so that they do not actually see you as being online.  In Firestorm there is a setting such that anyone that is not your friend would always see Offline on your profile -- not sure if that same option is available in the SL Viewer prefs or not.

However, if anyone IMs you, then they would immediately know you are online because they will not get the normal 'offline' response.  There are also scripts and devices that can give away your true online status.

Hiding your online status except to friends is a start, groups also leak your online status - and more importantly the last day you logged in. 

So, hiding all your groups is one way to slow people down, they then can't trivially join one and scroll down to your name.

But ultimately there is little you can do, if someone wants to track you they can, there are even a few devices that will make a spreadsheet of the times you log in and out.
