request Enter need todo what shift-enter is doing. how to change it ?

Am not getting used to it, this forum have configured the enter key wrong.

When i now oress enter i get empty line. Am told you need to use shift-enter. first that's not logic and normal on forum. second, on tablet shift-enter is not practical.

So i want to have it on this forum so enter just brings me to the next line without any wrong actions that add a space. you see it already happen in this post to, useless linefeeds.

 

This really the only big mistake on this forum, it's also a not normal functionality that no other forum use.

Open up Word (or start a google doc) and press Enter.  That's how word processors work.  Enter is a new paragraph.

Open up Notepad and hit Enter a few times.  That's how text editors work. It is a hold over from manual typewriters where you have to press the form feed lever twice for a new paragraph.

 

It is not a mistake.  It is by design. Welcome to the information age.

When typing a reply to something or even starting a new topic, there is also a button that can be clicked rather than using Shift+Enter.  Is that not an option for you on the tablet?
