Sunrise and Sunset

I live in the United States Eastern Time Zone and want my sims sunrise and sunset to be the same as my real life time zones sunrise and sunset. How do I get it to do that?

the day and night in SL are 4 hours each... or fixed.

As far i know you can not synchronise that with your RL cycle.

There's absolutely no way to do that, or even come close.  After all, the sun rises six times a RL day in SL and then goes down three hours later.

Actually, I think you CAN do this, with the Windlight environment editor.  See this SL Wiki page for tons of info, and pay particular attention to the Day Cycle Editor and the Length of Day settings boxes therein.

Bear in mind that no one will see these settings except you, UNLESS they have Windlight turned on, and have set the option to use Estate Time.

I also found an old blog post from about a year ago, which said that Oz Linden had mentioned that SL would be getting a 24 hour day option in a future upgrade.  That was quite some time ago, so maybe it has fallen off their radar, but it can't hurt to put in a Feature Request for it.
