If you have registered a credit card with Linden Lab via your account page, you should see 'Payment Info On File' on the first page of your inworld profile. If so, all is well and you are age verified.

Note, there are problems with the server software such that age-verified banlines sometimes ignore the fact that one is age verified.

have you used the credit card yet to buy lindens?  if you haven't then that's most likely your problem.

If you haven't used your card then your status is piof (payment info on file) and despite LL saying this is enough to verify, there was a "bug" in the code when they started to use piof to confirm account verification and it doesn't actually update your profile or account with the detail.  To fix it either buy some lindens or go premium - each will pretty well instantly update you.

If you have used it then it's something else and I suspect you'll need to lodge a ticket with LL

 

and landowners can specify if they only want account verified (i.e. premium or payment verified) accounts on their land or age verified (though aristotle - where you have to enter your full details and give details of your id - drivers licence, passport or whatever).

in this case if you have the wrong kind of verification, you won't get in.

having "Payment Info On File" means you are Account Verified, which will let you acces adult search, and adult land that is NOT set to restrict access to Age Verified accounts... (this may still be buggy, and you may need to USE your payment method once before it will update... updates can take as much as 24hrs to show up. if it takes more, file a support ticket.)

[yes the words are confusingly similar, especially whith the addition of "Verified" everywhere, and even the LL article seems to use the wrong words in some places, but they are two separate things. AGE verification requires some form of legal identification. a credit card is not a for m of legal identification]

Dear PanChaos, I believe you are what is called Account Verified, as opposed to Age Verified. While having Payment Info on File is great and allows you to buy lindens and such, you aren't Age verified until Linden runs a check against you based on info you give them that is compared to public records on you.

From the main Second Life . com page, which can be accessed by clicking on that green eyeball hand at the top left of this page, find your name at the top and click on it. Your account page will open up and over on the left you will see Age Verification. Click on that and do what it says and you should be set.

If you're seeing the word "Error" on the search page next to the maturity checkboxes, and only the General checkbox is enabled, your Viewer may not have sent the correct authorization token. To reset your authorization, close the Viewer and log back in. If you continue to receive the error, make sure you're using the latest version of the Second Life Viewer before filing a support request.

Adding payment info gets you Account Verified, this will allow you access to all adult content except for the few places where the owner has specified Age Verification as a requirement.

Make sure you have also set your maturity level in Me >> Preferences
