I'm still fairly new to sl and although I understand most things, I still cannot find the right skin and shape combination to suit me. I'm a little bit tired of messing with the sliders and can't seem to get my face right. So far I've looked on flickr and I've noticed the trends of mesh heads and I'm now thinking of getting one. Any ideas on which mesh head to get I know there are several brands out now. Thanks in advance, all suggestions will be truly appreciated :)

My thoughts? Not customizable enough for me.

I know that TMP has an animated head, which is nice and the only one I know of other than Snow Rabbit (which is stunning, but a little too young-looking for me, and I don't like the skins that work with it). There are heads, of course; Slink comes to mind. Grab some demos and try them on.

I almost always purchase my shapes. I look for modifiable, copyable shapes with a face I like a great deal. The body is easier to modify than the face, with fewer sliders to work with, so I can make minor changes to the face and focus on editing the body into something I prefer. I have considered mesh heads, but a) you see a lot of them on flickr because they look great in photos, but I seldom see anyone with one in SL; and b) again, they just aren't very customizable.

I agree with you about the snow rabbit head, its a bit too kawaii for me. I've checked out the heads from TMP and although I like them, their system is just so complicated and expensive. That's why I posted on the forums to get input as to what other type of heads are out there. I think there's a new one from vive nine fiore but I'm not so sure on it.

I saw the Fiore heads in some blogs. I was going to test them myself. They appear to be very well made, and so different. Less of a clone head. Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sanyabilavio/ The downside is that I see nothing about third party compability. No other skinmakers can release stuff for them. I already have the LOGO mesh head and the Snow Rabbit mesh head, and even if LOGO has a lot of makeups included, I was tired of it fast. It can be the same with the Fiore heads for me.

I think about Paris when I see them, or maybe Audrey Hepburn? Many seems to use the heavy dark eyebrows. http://marcopoloh.com/2015/02/01/fiore-toni/

This blog includes snapshots of the HUD with all that is included, and also the facial expressions. http://juicybomb.com/2015/02/01/fiore-mesh-head/

The TMP mesh head really has no expressions, just lips parted slightly and a bit more open. It is disappointing, but at least I can mix different content creators products for it.

Before spending money on mesh head, consider this:

• you cannot change the appearance of the head with appearance sliders. It is what it is, unchangeable.
• anybody wearing the same mesh head will look exactly like you do.

These things might get tiresome over time.

(If there are different skins available for the mesh head, then the head might look a bit different with different skins. But the shape of the head will always be the same.)

Also having to do expressions makes for a very static face. I got a mesh project one for a partner. I didn't like to say but all the faces we demo'ed looked like varying degrees of grumpy. We picked the best of them but for the week after it seemed like the grumpiness from the face was infectious and had affected both of us. After a week we agreed to give up with it. The staticness of the face just makes it seem sulky hehe
