to 1.) Be aware that every game, like the tresure hunt you are talking about, is made by residents and NOT by Linden Lab (except LindenRealms). There are endless game systems in SL and I don't know the one you are talking about, but I guess for people who are familiar with the system it would help if you could give any deatils what keeps you from playing.

If anything else fails, find out who provides the game and contact them.

to 2.) A freebie is an item that is sold for free or just 1L. Jobs can't be called freebies, because they are not items. Any job offered within Second Life is not provided officially by LL. There are residents who hire other residents who have certain skills for a specific job position. The only job with music that comes to my mind would be a DJ. There are some guides on the internet, which will inform you about what a DJ needs, as well as general advise about jobs in Second Life.

BTW when i said it wouldnt let me do the treasure hunt i meant that it keep saying my avatar was too new or something

Oh. Then the reason it said that is: your avatar is too new. It is not unusual for some things in Second Life to be available only to avatars at least 30 days old. Sounds like the game you're talking about has such a rule. You can spend the 30 days learning more about SL and checking out the Freebie shops as has already been suggested.

Most newcomers get the same advice: don't get too concerned about earning SL money at first. You really don't need it to start exploring and learning and enjoying the place.

The advice is to learn about SL before thinking about a job, especially in your first 30 days.

It will help you understand not only what SL is but what a 'job' in SL is.  Things like, for instance, there is no definitive job type, just whatever some other resident is offering.

That said, it's pretty tough to think of much in the music industry that doesn't require at least one of a headset, microphone or stream.

Then again "What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?" - "A drummer" so perhaps you could 'bang on things', which has a long history in SL.

I remember avatars standing around and singing some years ago? Maybe in 2007 - 2008? I haven't seen one in years. I would think such a street musician would be entertaining, and some would drop a few §L on them for sure. It is even an avatar in the library called "Musician male".

But, I don't like it when new people come here and think they can make lots of money in SL when they are just a few days old. Making money in SL require skills and patience. Yes, even escorts will need to be skilled with words. So if you do some research on your own as it's already been suggested... do some work on your own, google, watch instruction videos on Youtube, learn....... be stubborn.......work........ then you can make some pocket money. Don't think you will ever earn enough money in SL to live of it in RL. That is possible, but then you should work with Blender, making mesh, know photoshop and really put down LOTS of hours. A job at McDonalds would be safer.

Years ago when camping was more prevalent/allowed I used to see some clever variations.  One was playing a guitar.  I saw an avatar on the corner of a city type sim standing & playing a guitar and tipped the avatar.  I later found out that was a method of paid camping when I discovered identical animations in other places, two of which I used myself - one was in a small card shop and the other was one of many types of camping animations in a large dress/hair shop.
