"Recently Aria and I had been talking about the glut of tropical / beach themed resorts in Second Life, and the need for something a bit different. Cue the opening of Carmel Bay, which is most definitely not a beach place. Instead, owned by Damon and Artie Jackman, Carmel Bay is a Yosemite Valley themed town and National Park with a mix of accommodation to rent on a nightly basis." Read more on the blog.
"Today I am showing you @Lexy Nexen Second Life destination called The Wild Branch Brewing Co. It's a lovely mountainous retreat island surrounded by water and distant mountains." Click to watch the video on YouTube.
"Described as “an island in the Caribbean”, Monkey Island offers opportunities for exploration – including a treasure hunt -, photography, relaxing, and simply enjoying the setting with its mix of major and minor islands as they edge towards a theme of pirates whilst also offer a number of potential twists which take the mind in other directions." "Just to put a preface on this…myself (Lia) and Fenny grew up at a time when EDM (Electronic Dance Music) was still in the throes of the “Great Split”. Late 80’s through the 90’s the original techno and dance scene was splintering into all sorts of different styles of house, dance and club and myself and fenny followed a lot of those branches into what today is all lumped into the heading of “EDM”. So, as you can expect, knowing the full history of EDM going back to the time of the late 80’s into the splintering of the 90’s we can both become the “Statler and Waldorf” muppets when it comes to reviewing a general EDM club." "No Passport Stamp for this post, but still exploring after a long hiatus, and it was time to get back at it. This time we travel through a different medium, an Second Life group called The Nature Collective, and a beautiful annual build by juliatrouble resident (or Julia Dagger, as she is currently named) called Winter's Home." "In December, Aria & I visited Santa’s Winter Dreamland by Lifestyle Inc." Read more on the blog.
"Wandering through Second Life I chanced upon the virtual Hotel Chelsea and was immediately impressed with the scale of building, the quality of the build, it’s myriad rooms, and simple but imposing presence. (Since then I have compared some details of the real life Chelsea Hotel in New York City with this replica and find the recreation is staggeringly accurate – even the lift breaks down, just like the real life lift)." "I’m actually not a great fan of the Halloween season. I’m not sure why; it’s just something that has never really held any significant appeal. However, within Second Life, there is one part of the spooky season (to use the overworked expression beloved of local news anchors on the TV) that I absolutely do enjoy each year – and that’s the annual Calas Galadhon Halloween region that Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith put together as a creative tour de force for everyone to enjoy, both by exploring it and in attending the entertainments they and their team lay on throughout the month." "Nordic Aire is an Airbnb concept from Interior Designers and events management company The Rookie Uncut. This is the first in what will be a series of different destination concepts, that will fall under the brand ‘Rookie Destinations.’ Aria and myself went to stay shortly after it opened. It’s quite intimate and very suited to couples, so it may be somewhere you want to take your significant other for Valentine’s Day, or indeed on any date occasion for one night." "Introducing the opening of the Zenescope Metaverse in Second Life. It seems there ar no limits these days when we use our imaginations." Click to watch the video on YouTube.
"Hera (zee9) is back with a new build that brings together multiple themes and inspirations to present an little bit of everything for lovers of science-fiction, science-fantasy, major motion picture franchises, Greek mythology and Hera’s own builds." Read more on the blog.
"It’s been a while since I posted anything about my SL adventures, mainly since I haven’t had time for much. So I thought now we’re into “Halloween Month” in SL I should start again with a seasonal wander. So I headed to “Pumpkin Town”." Read more on the blog.
"We will be travelling and exploring around Sutherland and East Coast on the continent Sansara. You can join the optional flight from Bellisseria to Sansara already. It will take about 10 minutes. Depending on the number of participants, the optional flight will be done by plane or by mini helicopter." Read more on the blog.
"La Croisette is a famous beach front promenade in Cannes, France, which includes a number of hotels - most notably the Hyatt owned Le Martinez. A version of both the promenade and the Martinez hotel have now been recreated in Second Life. I went to stay on the day after it opened. My conclusion is that the destination as a whole is well worth a visit, but I'm less convinced about the hotel." Read more on the blog.
"Over the past two months, Aria has been spending a lot of time remodelling the Jane Austen themed Pemberley. The amount of work she put in really shows in the amazing end result." Read more on the blog.
"Ana’s Lake Motel 68 is on a nature themed sim, which also has trailers available to rent for anyone wanting to stay longer. Like most Motels, it’s free. However, unlike most other Motels, there’s actually quite a lot to do here." Read more on the blog.
"Another great build from Camilla Runo, creator of Vargsagen, Skullingtown and Ars Vivendia. This time around we’re in the Wild West at a place called Wind River and it looks great." Read more on the blog.
"Greg Timmerman offers a unique way of traveling with his project [Greg's] - Bar & Lounge." Read more on the blog.
"My first introduction to the work of Hera (zee9 – then known as Kora) came getting on for a decade ago, when I first visited Venexia and Goatswood, two separate builds developed for role-play. At the time, both were popular spots for visitors, with Goatswood possibly the more popular by virtue of its more general setting. However, both departed Second Life in 2015 and while Venexia has reappeared from time to time since then, I think I’m right in saying Goatswood has largely been absent the grid. At least until now." "We did a lot of buying in preparation for Christmas. Then a dog smelled the good smell and came by." Location details on Flickr.
