"The illustrious Chelsea hotel in NYC, many have heard of it. And legendary it was! Bob Dylan composed songs there and the poet Allen Ginsberg wrote there. But there are more famous names among the guests: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, William S. Burroughs, Arthur Miller and Patti Smith. And, of course, Nico, my tragic heroine of all time. New York's Chelsea hotel may have been saved from ruin by being sold and pimped up, but it has now become an average luxury hotel that will no longer accommodate future artistic bohemians, if only because of its price. However, the Second Life version of Hotel Chelsea stayed true to the old atmosphere and ideals." Read more on the blog.

Did Someone Say Cheesecake - 1.jpg

"Recently, I've been re-introduced to an old love...exploring SL!  For years, I was the "tour goddess" of Caledon Oxbridge University and my school's region, Jaguarland (and all of those tours helped with my study of virtual tourism and team-building)--I even served as the tour stream lead for VWBPE one year as part of an internship project." "There can be very few of us who do not have at least one Linden Bear sitting in Inventory somewhere – and most likely more than one (I have a good handful tucked away, and I’ve not been a major collector). "Tucked away in the very north end of the 14 region “City State” of New Babbage (more about New Babbage in a later article) is probably one of the biggest buildings of the city.  Brunel Hall. I first stumbled on an earlier version of the hall years ago when i was exploring the grid visiting various steampunk and Victorian themed regions.  In 2012 when i stayed at the hotel it was much smaller, having only two floor, since then its been extended out a lot into 5 floors in total." Welcome To Cafe Indigo

"Imagine, if you will…that you have just stepped through heavy oak doors and find yourself in a small entrance way. The smell of freshly brewed coffee hits your nose, and your ears are met with the pleasant hum of good conversation and the occasional hiss of the coffee machine, all wrapped in the wonderful embrace of excellent music. You have found Café Indigo… welcome!" "At a time when many red states in the U.S. are passing laws against drag performers and transgendered people, it’s vitally important for LGBTQ people and their allies to have safe places in which to gather and find like-minded community, both in real life and in virtual life. Second Life has always been a welcoming virtual space for the LGBTQ community, with its own special landing page and numerous sims devoted to any and every aspect of the queer community (of which I, a cisgender gay man, am a part)."
