It's Not Fine

"It is as though every year I get older, it feels less like the Christmases I used to remember. Or maybe the world just seems less beautiful and less wonder filled. Or maybe I’m not so easily impressed. Or maybe the nostalgia and fondness of holiday’s long past have been thrust upon this pedestal in my mind that nothing could compare. I try to do things to capture that magic and that feeling. It’s part of why I wanted to do the I’ll Be Home For Christmas winter destination in SL." Read more on the blog.

It Was Just A Scattered Dream Between the Ocean of Our Souls

"I always have these best intentions when it comes to blogging, but I don’t have it in me anymore to create images. This is not for a lack of wanting to, but I will spend hours trying to work out a scene but if there is no meaning to me… I just can’t. I remember years ago I had done seventeen photos in one month and was not even feeling burnt out." Read more on the blog.

"We are looking to examine how Second Life helped residents keep it together in their first lives during these past twelve months with the pandemic. Are you a teacher who used SL as a classroom? Did you get together with family in-world while distancing in your first life? Are you an essential worker who found solace and safety online after a day of dodging viruses and anti-maskers? If you think Second Life helped you hold it together, send me or Cajsa Lilliehook a short paragraph and we will interview some of you for a story on the ways SL made these past twelve months bearable and beatable." "Do you ever feel so incredibly alone? Like you’re surrounded by people, and you have the most amazing friends and support system, but for some reason you can’t just get out of your head? It’s like with every moment, it’s just another stone placed on your chest. One stone is fine, and so is two and three and four and exponentially more. Until it gets to the point, where everything feels too heavy. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and remember to breathe." Read more on the blog.

Cross Your Fingers When You Lie

"The last time I took one of those personality tests was about five years ago. Back then, I was an ENTP-T. A couple nights ago, I tried again and I am now an ISFP-T. I spoke to my SL sister about it, and she thinks it fits. It just got me thinking about how we are all constantly changing, how life experiences and what we take from them mold us and help for us to grow." Read more on the blog.

"I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I feel that that is a fantastic way to procrastinate. Like on January 1, a person resolves that by the end of the year they will change X, Y and Z. It gives them a whole year to “try” or simply forget about it, only to have the same resolution for that new year. I feel like I often say I am having a difficult time to the point where it sounds overly dramatic. I have to remind myself that given the world’s current climate; perhaps, it is more realistic than hyperbolic." Read more on the blog.

An SL Thanksgiving Project 2022

“I did this collaborative project two years ago, and I want to do it again this year. If there is one thing I feel this world needs more of, it is kindness, and I can’t think of a better way than to express it to those we are most thankful for. For this project, people will submit a short note for someone and write why they are thankful for them. Each submission will appear as their own page in a book that will be published online on issuu. This is open for anyone to participate in, and you can do as many submissions as you would like.” Read more on the blog.

"I decided that as a present to my friends I would make a small book with a short note explaining why I am thankful for each of them. I feel like sometimes I get caught up in the daily grind of life that I don’t pause enough to express my gratitude. In their own way, they add a richness to my life, and my world would be a little less bright without them. The thing about my ideas is that they tend to linger and evolve." Read more on the blog.

Winter Blues - Five Of Cups

"The Five of Cups in a reading usually shows a need to acknowledge the disappointment or sorrow in your life but also emphasizes the importance of acceptance, learning from the experience, and seeking ways to move forward. It encourages a shift in perspective to recognize the opportunities that still exist rather than dwelling solely on past disappointments. This card serves as a reminder to not let setbacks overshadow future potential and to find ways to overcome grief or disappointment." Read more on the blog.

"It has been a while since I updated here. Part of that has been due to recent health issues brought on by the sub-zero temperatures we experience the week before last, which greatly reduced the time I’ve been able to spend in Second Life. Yesterday was the sixth anniversary (or ‘Rez-Day’ as it’s called by some folks) of my joining Second Life. Sadly, I wasn’t feeling up to celebrating, so it was pretty low-key this year." Seren's World - 2.png

"Throughout my life, I always felt it therapeutic to write down my thoughts, ideas, goals, etc. It feels like you are cleaning up the clutter in your brain, clearing up some space to store more information that is bound to come up in the future. I love writing or doodling down how I felt on a specific day, how I reacted to it. It helps me grow, to learn from my mistakes and to become a better person." Read more on the blog.

Seren's World - 10.png

"There are some major dark events happening in Canada right now and I have been attempting to think about positive things that will allow me to keep on smiling. Today, for some reason, I started to think of activities I used to do as a child. One of my favorites was to kneel down in front of a swing, lean on it, and swing back and forward while inventing songs in my head. That thought made me smile for some reason." Seren's World - 5.png

"On February 18, I saw an email from the wonderful Mr. Lawrence Pryce, inviting me to create a spring-like picture for his Bloom of Spring Campaign. I hesitated since I was unable to move my left arm, making it impossible to properly edit a picture in Photoshop. But I figured, since the deadline was a month away, I could work on the picture bit by bit and make it happen." Read more on the blog.
