Whenever I try to double-click teleport it says, "Could not teleport closer to destination."

Doesn't that make it kind of a useless feature? I can't even figure out how it's useful at all - ever.

That happens if the parcel you are on has a landing point set. Unless you use the Phoenix viewer that supports LSL script supported double click to target, you will always see this behaviour on said parcels.

You do not state what viewer you are using but you may not have the double-click to teleport feature turned 'on' in your viewer.  In the Phoenix viewer, you can find it in Edit > Preferences > Phoenix > TP/Login tab.  Tick the box at the top and you will be able to use the double click feature to TP.

If this is not the issue, then you are trying to TP to a location too close to where you are.

The only people that can TP around on group land that has a landing point fixed, are group members. So unless you use Phoenix as previously suggested, you will get that message at a lot of places (especially shops).

Yes, it is a pretty useless feature, especially when you consider the telehub limitation.  If you're only going a short distance, flying is almost as fast, and you can see where you're going too.  :smileytongue:
