Unfortunatly I don't think that is going to happen. Read the recent blog comments here;

Content theft is for sure the #1 reason. I was speaking about how LL has actually cut themselves away from TG as far as possible--there is absolutely no inworld involvement.
Again ty.
General question here to both the teens and adults listening to this thread;
Do teens currently have access to the Marketplace? Think about it.

Wrong, because there are NO LL staff involved with the teen grid. The only interaction that ever happens between TG and LL is sometimes Jeremy comes and stands around near a fountain for an hour.
Anyone else see a problem with LL having zero involvement with how the teen grid was run? What makes anyone think that LL won't continue to turn a blind eye to what the teens do on the main grid after the first of the year?
Thank you for making my points even stronger against this merge

All of the points you make are moot. For you don't realize that teens have already been coming to the main grid and doing just what you're saying they're doing.
I could not bring myself to continue reading your post without first stopping you right there.
The problem you fail to realize is you just supplied legal proof and guilt of illegal activies within Second Life and your ok with that. The real world is not ok with that.
If little Johnny stole a candy bar every week for a year; it is not ok just because he got away with it. Simple enough to understand, Yes.
Now here is the kicker Devine; contact someone about your knowlege and proof of illegal activies with in SL. Failing to do so will in fact get you into some legal hot water yourself, in the real world.
SL may be a game, but crimes against minors are most certainly not. Educate yourself in these matters for your own protection.
"Accessory: A person is said to be an accessory, if he/she helps or encourages the commitment of a crime. He is an accessory before the fact, if he knows about the commission of the crime beforehand. He is an accessory after the fact, if he conceals the facts about the crime or aids in the escape of the perpetrator. An accessory may or may not be present at the scene of the crime."

General reply here; I think changing the tier for educational and non profits; sends a clear message to educators and non profits; and that message is obviously that LL no longer wishes to support your efforts. Other grids would be very happy to have all of you; even if LL isn't.

The video and articles were all over the web, it's not new news; but yes shocking. Some of the things that STILL go on in SL are also very shocking; BUT adult/adult and they are on an 18+ grid, = none of my business.
LL has what 82? days to clean up the grid before the kids are allowed in; I don't think they can.

Your not alone in feeling that way. Last night I checked out LL's competition and was pleasently suprized. My blood has been boiling these past few days knowing that some of these changes are less than 90 days away and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it...except leave of course. Given that choice; this content creator probably will. I have rolled with the punches when it comes to LL but this time; morally I just cannot go against my own value system. No matter how much I love SL.

I will agree with that. I can't help but wonder if that is the plan with this whole G rating thing. After a while of this sort of thing; LL won't need content, just subscribers.

Making Strides to Improve our Customer Support Services

Our decision to restructure the company was based on our feeling that we were moving too slowly on important strategic initiatives, so we have decided to consolidate software development in the US and combine our product and technology organizations into one. We have also streamlined customer support so that it can scale economically as we add users. These decisions resulted in significant job eliminations and this tends to be what press and bloggers focus on because of the human dimension. It is indeed difficult for us to see our colleagues leaving.
The above quote was by M Linden before he was fired; I bolded the part that might be of interest in this topic.

I would laugh if that weren't so sad and so true.

You Sir are very welcome . Once of these last 83 days of SL ppl are bound to finally understand that their world is about to change dramatically for the worse. Let's just hope it's sooner than later.

FAIL
You don't have to do anything at all, to be accused of doing wrong. That is the point you miss. Everyone is at risk. Once they open the flood gates there is no going back. A child can claim ignorance, an adult cannot.
btw if they are in world they are doing so illegally.

1. stop paying the estate owner.
2. tell the owner to restart the region till it fixes it's self.

Also.... LL has this uncanny abilty to always make up new rules and expect ppl to police themselves. Of course never giving those ppl any real tools to make that happen, nor backing up those ppl with enough backend staff at the lab. LL just expects things to go smoothly, and they genuinely seem dumbfounded when things go bad. It used to be cute, now it's just annoying.

I can guarentee you that would not of been the case; had they told me. I have reported more than my fair share of minors. It happens a lot when you rent out residental space. I don't rent out property anymore. Matter of fact I am probably working on my final build in SL. Oh well.

By the way these two latest changes look really strange. LL wants more kids on the main grid but they don't want any decent ppl around to educate them within SL. Um what?

Right NOW any teen on the grid is doing so ILLEGALLY. That is the difference.

I also want to add that it is nausiating to read that some ppl find the idea of having sex with minors a non issue. Or try to hide behind some bs about SL being a game. Everyone is all set to walk down this slippery slope and they have no idea what the ramifications are because they are either too ignorant or lazy to read the real life laws as they apply to online activity. You cannot hid behind LL they will throw you to the wolves themselves.

Exactly right. I find it very worrying that LL is ok with the PG areas in the state that are in currently, and is willing to move teens into these areas.
---- To Linden Lab ----
LL: will you be cleaning up the mainland BEFORE or AFTER you move the teens into the current PG areas of SL on 1/1/2011?
LL: will you be cleaning up the marketplace BEFORE or AFTER 1/1/2011?
LL: will pg areas that are in fact mature or adult be moved BEFORE or AFTER you move the teens into the current PG areas of SL on 1/1/2011?
LL: will you or won't you flag children or adults on the SL grid?
LL: can you make a marketplace box that will work on other grids so those of us who are moving on can still sell content to SL users.
