  1. Agreed! <3 It takes a lot of effort to put those outfits together, and also quite a bit of money. People often times don't recognize all the effort that goes into blogging these things for others to gain ideas from. A little appreciation sometimes goes a long way. Keeping our opinions to ourselves can also go just as far at times. <3
  2. Love love love your attitude Thinking outside the box! <3
  3. So many great finds here! I absolutely love these tops from Decoy! They are available at Mesh March Madness
  4. Twenty Seven Pages with Forty One people online! Ha ha! This is a fun comparison Good post!
  5. That makes sense! I know with Harlow I have a multitude of styles/avi shapes for her if I feel like switching things up, but her account tends to keep the same most of the time
  6. Why do you care so much what other people wear and represent? That's the beauty of Second Life isn't it? To create and use endless freedom to be and do what we want? I personally think the blog posts so far have all represented dynamically different fashion statements. Some a little eccentric and quirky, but isn't that what fashion is all about? Wearing and doing what you want? If you don't like it, then you have the endless ability to wear and choose something else that you personally like better. Oh the beauty of choices in life. Just my two cents.
  7. I very recently did a blog poll on my blog asking how many avatars you have in Second Life. What are they used for? Etc... I think one of the best things about havin an avatar is the ability to have endless freedom in how you style and create it. Do you have avatars for each specific style or do you tend to use one avatar and style it up with whatever mood that fits you? I personally have 5 different avatars, and use them for fashion related or photography related reasons, as well as for some roleplay. My blog poll is here if you are interested in casting your vote on it: http://www.harlowheslop.com/archives/2360 I'm mostly, just really interested in finding out how common it is to have multiple avatars in Second Life. Judging by the poll so far, surprisingly MOST people have numerous avies! :)
  8. I am a huge fan of M.O.C.K cosmetics. I also think elymode and L. Fauna have great items!
  9. For being what many call a "fashion blogger" I tend to keep pretty simple. I like that "girl next door" simplicity with almost anything I wear on a daily basis. I like a simple necklace, or a pair of earrings. You will very rarely see me running around SL with a billion accessories attached to my avatar. Simplicity can be key sometimes. I do on occasion really love to glam it up and throw on a lot of items, but most of the time I keep it simple with one or two small accessories
  10. Mesh is my absolute favorite I've had so much fun with it being incorporated into our Second Live's now. I actually have a hard time wearing anything that isnt mesh nowadays. One thing I'm still iffy about is mesh pants. For some reason they just don't look quite right on my avatar, but shirts, sweaters, dresses, hair, accessories? GIMME!
  11. I'd love to see less "high fashion" mens items and more everyday apparel. I know when I busted out my male alt recently, trying to find just basic everyday wear was a challenge! The high fashion stuff is a lot of fun, but there's a lot to be said in the simple stuff too.
  12. Oh! And Donna Flora! Her store just amazes me. You walk in and it's near endless creations!
  13. Some of my favorites include Caroline's Jewelry, Dark Mouse, Earthstones, KOSH, Concrete Flowers, and a few others. There are so many fantastic Jewelry markers in Second Life. I'm always impressed!
  14. Y'all have mentioned most of what I would have mentioned. Koinup.com and SL's destination guide are my two favorite places. I am also really appreciative of bloggers I admire who take the time to mention where they took photos at. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to learn about new places popping up in SL.
  15. So many fun items! Awesome choices. I'm getting more and more excited as all the new spring items start to roll out!
  16. Great question Berry! I personally thinkg mesh avatars are a lot of fun. Are they something I'd use on a regular basis and sacrifice the unique look i've tried to create for myself? Probably not, but they are fun to experiment with on temporary occasions. The endless possibilities that mesh is starting to offer is a lot of fun. Maybe soon down the road we can have more mesh without sacrificing originality. Just like you, I am very attached to Harlow's specific shape and look. I cringe when I have to adjust a number one or two points on the appearance editor to fit into a top, let alone an entire shape!
  17. It depends what types of blogs you are looking for. Are you looking for fashion blogs? Event blogs? A mix of stuff? Technicaly geeky blogs? There are all sorts of Second Life bloggers and Second Life websites out there, so it really comes down to what you specifically want to find.
  18. If you like Phoenix I strongly suggest upgrading to Firestorm. It is created by the same people who created Phoenix. It is a 2.0 viewer, but I encourage you to take the time to learn it. (Plus, 1.x viewers will eventually be obsolete so it's best to try and learn it now before you are forced to do so). Once you do, you will find it's very easy to navigate, organized, and allows for multiple tattoo/clothing layers as well as many other REALLY helpful features. It's found at phoenixviewer.com just like the phoenix viewer was. I really love Firestorm! Best of luck!
  19. Hey all! Second Life boasts such a great variety of awesome live music in Second Life. I'm curious who some of your favorite live musicians are! Mine include Frogg & Jaycat (or Effinjay as they are known most of the time now), Dale Katscher, Tallyesin, and a few others. Who do you love? :)
  20. Unfortunately the lines are a glitch and difficult to get rid of, and most people taking photos WANT high res snapshots. My suggestion is look up tutorials on how to remove them. If you have editing programs you can find some amazing tutorials on youtube on how to remove/edit the lines. I personally use the smudge tool in CS3 Adobe Photoshop to remove my lines. You can find another great tutorial that covers a few versions of photoshop here: I hope that at least helps! If you don't have PS or can't afford it check out Gimp! It's free! And if you don't care too much about high res, shoot no larger than your screen size resolution! Best of luck! <3
  21. I just think creators are being safe than sorry. There are a lot of cheapskates out there that will wear a demo if the wording on the demo is subtle. I see it happen all the time. I am really appreciative of any designer who takes the time to make a demo, and if it's covered in demo marks and such then so be it. One thing I do get frustrated by though, are demos that have a bunch of particles, flashy extras that create lag, or the big boxes around them that make it impossible to cam in to see the product. I personally rather have the text all over the demo than those two other added frustrations! But again, I'm just glad designers take the time to create the demos in the first place.
  22. Well, like I stated above, Truth has some of the best customer service in Second Life. My assumption is that he simply didn't receive the message. The joys of Second Life and technical glitches sometimes eh? Sorry for your frustration! Hope you get your answer!
  23. Those shoes are so much fun! <3
