I think those 'ten second people' people never use any vehicles to explore the grid. ¬¬

Most of them are clueless that they can change the amount of time. The 10 seconds is default on most (if not all) orbs. The ones that are less than 10 seconds make it obvious they are doing it intentionally to grief.

: Do I actually sound like a young boy or is it that guys would rather believe they're playing with a 12 year old than believe they're playing with a woman and thats the only way they can explain my voice?

It really grates on my nerves when some jackanape calls on the phone and continues to call me sir after I have told him I am not (and never have been) a sir. The last one's response was, "you're not?" Another number blocked.

And it's only the guys who do that crap. They seem to think it's going to accomplish their goal to either sell me something or get information out of me by continuing to insult me. One of them even used the excuse that it was "a habit". BS.

My response is to immediately hang up and block the number. Then take amusement from the number of times they try to call back and block each new number they try using. Guys that pull that sort of crap in SL get the same kind of response. Life is too short to put up with that sort of garbage.

I've found the best solution is to just keep voice turned off. I have high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus so it's just less stressful for everyone. No one likes to have to repeat things several times and I don't like having to ask repeatedly. If people don't like that I have voice off, that's their problem, not mine.

They wouldn’t count it here if non-match. Another state finally made it “provisional” if non-match, but then they contact you and you (or your attorney) have to bring your ID  for verification.

That's true in any state. What I'm getting at is it doesn't have to be a perfect match. That is an impossibility for a human being.

Just writing your sig 10 times in a row you will see differences. It takes an expert (forensic document examiners) to be able to tell if it is forged or not. As we get older our hands can shake while signing. They know this. So unless it is wildly out of whack, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

I didn’t do mail-in due to my signature being awful, possible non-match. Old people problems.

Mine has been chicken scratching for decades. Dion't let what it looks like bother you. Just makes it harder for someone to forge.

On that note, I early voted yesterday! Each area (district) has different ballots, so they on-the-spot printed a custom ballot. There was no wait, plenty of workers. The “no wait” part was a little scary..hoping for some change. Please vote!

I like the system here in Oregon. They mail out the ballots and all you have to do is either drop them in the box or mail them back.

In almost 10 years, the longest break I took from SL was 5 days. Enforced because of hospital.  Even on holiday I make sure there's wifi so I can at least touch base and log in a little.  I don't think I have been "bored"  I have moments of standing around on my platform in a daze and no idea what to do but I wouldn't call it boredom, more like anything to avoid tidying my invent.  If you're that bored, I am sure there's another life for you.  It's called real.

*breathes a small sigh of relief that she isn't the only one standing around in a daze wondering what to do besides sorting inventory and boxing up 30k plus of ancient stuff*

Oh I know! I'll go demo and freebie shopping!

if that is true, why are there racial quotas and preferences at universities?

That's actually a classic example of George Orwell's doublethink,  the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in distinct social contexts.

    1) There is no such thing a race.

    2) We must work to ensure each race is fairly represented in all spheres of life

You must have missed the quotation marks around my first use of "race".

Ok what about a library It does not work there as well :( I mean no one is even working.

Libraries aren't for playing games. They are for reading, studying and doing research.

Try a coffee shop. Or some other place that won't mind you sucking up a lot of bandwidth to play games.

I never said I play during school or work but I was trying to see if works during my school break time when i have nothing to do at work like at lunch etc.

    I didn't say you did.

Schools and places of work have good reason to not allow just any program to be installed on their equipment or their connection(s) be used to access places they have disallowed. It's for your protection as well as the school's/place of work. Not to mention the legal connotations. Too many people are sue happy as well as filing criminal charges for even the most minor of things.

It's disconcerting to see people who cannot tell the difference between a sexual fetish and racial politics where one believes they're are genuinely superior.

For the person who called me a bigot, I was using Bull rp as an example but you selectively quoted to push your lies and racial hatred. If this is America's thinking, then I want to see America fall for good.

Us indigenous peoples would be more than happy to ship all the immigrants back to the countries of origin of their ancestors.

    This, pretty much exactly.

None of this kind of thing is ever black and white (pun unintended, but probably unavoidable). Part of me would love to engage with these people about the sheer stupidity and evil of the ideology implied by this kind of ugly garbage. But I doubt very much that would achieve much. I might be able to embarrass those who aren't actual white supremacists, but to what end? They're not really the problem anyway, and the idiots who do embrace the racist ideology are hardly going to listen to me.

I'd love to see this kind of RP end -- but because the people engaging in it have come to recognize how ugly, stupid, and evil it is, not because it's been banned. The problem isn't the role play: it's the racist attitudes behind it, and while a ban might extinguish the former, it does nothing to address the latter. Bans treat the symptoms, not the disease.

The real "answer" is education, in the schools, but also discussion about the issues in public venues (of which this forum is a tiny but not entirely insignificant example).

    Preach it Sister!

Education is the key. It begins at home before the child ever sets foot in a classroom. Everyone needs to learn that just because my skin isn't white, it doesn't mean I am not a human being of equal standing.
