I find it unacceptable that you cannot go to the parcel you pay for because other avatars that don't have a parcel on that region occupy all the slots. When an avatar that owns a parcel on a region tries to enter said region while all avatar slots are taken, an avatar that doesn't own a parcel there should be booted to free up a slot. If you own the land, you come first!

You can always go to any parcel you own, no matter the agent limit. So what you refer to are private regions that are owned by other residents, even if you purchase the land (buy land) you are paying the resident, not Linden Lab; you are renting.

I said that to say this: What you're asking for is some kind of method for a region owner to set some kind of access-priority to some residents. How would that be done? It cannot be triggered by any of the region-parcel tech, that's bad enough (no way to automatically do anything  via scripting regarding land) - so, what? Perhaps a "priority" list akin to the white and black lists in region settings? Are estate managers willing to go through the trouble of adding and removing people from such a list every time someone rents or leaves?

But then, how will the Region agent-management system decide which agent to eject when a priority-tagged agent wants to enter?

How, exactly, would all this work?

And since it cannot work, is it still unacceptable to you? Because by the fact that you're still here, it is still acceptable to some degree. Just saying.

That's 20%. If it's true, then you should file a support ticket because I'm not seeing what you claim to be seeing. Either way, it's the cost of doing business. We either deal with it or stop doing business.

I had a friend that got burnt with fees when someone in their group lost their account and their donated tier was removed.

This was a long time ago. Maybe protocol has changed?

Group liabilities do not apply to land-use-fees at any tier. They apply to group expenditures, more specifically: if the group owns land and they turn on the "Show in search" or create classified ads, etc - those are the costs you will be contributing to. Likely never more that L$1 per week. But even that can add-up pretty quickly. It has always been this way. The friend you refer to is pulling your leg. Really hard.

Granted but nobody else has the right viewer and so while you look terrific on your screen, to everyone else in SL you're that half-finished, newspaper collage ransom note figure thing.

Off-topic comment: This is FUNNY! Believe it or not this actually happened TODAY! I put on a BOM outfit, I see it just great. Others do NOT see it; I am naked! It took trying on several others to no avail, then when I put on an ancient outfit from 2006 - the region finally baked it! Hahaha. You were spying on me when this happened, I think. Stop laughing at me! Hahaha!

LESSON to everyone else: Be careful what you wish for, the corruption can really happen!  hahaha! Gives Almina the evil-eye.

  6. The problem with the add-ons, which I agree that most are wonderful and professionally-tasteful, is that if you allow one, you'll have to all ow all. I think that defining the gauche example above as a "shell" or shell-like and then not allowing them would be prudent, the classy and high-quality Victorian Turret example would have to suffer that, though.

I wonder if the add-on is originally that ugly or if this particular person just made it look that bad.

I had to have a look, and that's not even the worst angle. The structure has no rhyme or reason to it. It was created by the resident living there.

So there is some truth to @Patch Linden's comment about exterior add-on "shells". If they update the covenant about that it may be sad for the Victorian Turret add-on, but sights like this...

Uh, they already do? Granted but you can't get people to come and pet them because people don't appreciate how cute and lovely they are.

I wish I could stay in on New Year's Eve and just order a Chinese and watch TV and go to bed at 10pm without anyone thinking I am being rude for not going to the party.

Granted. I come over and sit with you and we have our own party, and I raid your refrigerator empty. because I'm a Chinese. ~snorts~

I wish my favored mesh body maker would release a true BOM version instead of relying on an applier.

Is Maitreya cutting deals, or putting pressure on clothing makers, and using their huge market share, and access to their developer's kit as leverage?

You verbalize what many are thinking. We know it's very likely this is the case with the Legacy. Though, were I a creator of apparel, etc., I'm not so sure I'd go exclusively Maitreya because then I'd be only a water droplet in the Pacific Ocean. Discovery would be an important part of that and exclusively Maitreya whittles that option down a lot.

Some of those may think "Oh, but Legacy can wear Maitreya also" and that's true with the deformers. But I'll never buy another Maitreya outfit on my alt since switching to Legacy, I'll only buy Legacy-designed stuff.

I see it this way: there still are thousands of outfits for Venus and Slink and the others that have fallen out of favor with some creators and the truth is: creativity in designs are waning badly. PROTIP: Search MP for your body-compatible outfits, sort by Oldest First. Boom, lots oof great stuff there. And also, especially with BOM, lots of decent older system stuff to be had. Again, sort by oldest first, then skips ahead several pages (to skip past the really old stuff). And if there are demos, grab 'em. You'd be surprised at the quality of a lot of that older system-layer stuff.

I've had this and it's amazing with BOM - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Solange-Elegance-Lingerie-Set-BLACK/485905 - all system layers (and it's no longer 600L LOL). And there's AviCandy as well. it all looks fantastic with BOM.

    Oh

Always pay attention to group-joining fees. If you search for the group and look at the description then it is your choice. If someone arbitrarily invites you to a group - always decline it. As for photography in SL: The photographer should be paying YOU, not the other way around.

The Maitreya wasn't designed for plus sized shapes which is why there are bodies like Belleza & Slink Hourglass and TMP Legacy so it appears for people that want a more portly figure. The shape might be quite good but L$5k is a lot to drop on a body that could end up like the previous TMP body. My alt uses a version of that body the HUD works off an external server and is no longer loading up any of the customisation options and someone oh here a while back said the customisation options they obtained had disappeared from their HUD

This is all true, though the dead horse has been dead for some time, now. SL works off an external server and may, one day, no longer load up anything. The point is this: As long as you enjoy it now, what difference does it make if it all stops working in the future? As long as you find worth in it now, the rest is really kind of moot, isn't it?

I love my Legacy mesh body. Albeit, as beautiful as it is, I still am torn between it and my Belleza. But that's my conundrum, no one else's. The same with the conundrum you've experienced. :)

plus they mentioned 8 home themes and we only have 4 in Bellisseria and its full now, besides the mountain strip and that one region by Panamole Canal

There will be new continents. It is possible they may add new continents nearer to the other existing continents. And there also is this: People have been begging for years to "connect the continents" with water to open up a massive boating and flying experience. So, what if they plop the new continent between the existing ones and then decide to create a water channel to the others? Just a thought. We cannot see Patch's big picture, but consider the the lengths they are going to (absolutely unheard of coming from LL up to now) - it would be a wonderful shock, but I also would be surprised.

I wonder if it's just that the SL search engine sucks even more than it did 10 years ago.

[ Or AND  maybe ] it's just that too many serious people have left SL and it's now mainly people pounding their puds to pixel porking porn.

There, I fixed that for you.

The system in Bellisseria is new and wont be using the traditional points switches that you see on the other continent railways lines (at least that is my understanding of it). When two trains approach one of these split lines, it is supposed to be set up so it automatically sends them down different paths. As was said though, it's still a work in progress.

This is correct (even though the paths are backward - trains are supposed to take the right-side track, even in Europe. LOL) Because the railroad is not finished, yet, it's not fully working -  when you come upon a light - if it's red, you are supposed to stop because there is an oncoming train. When they reach a pull-out (the double-track sections) they are supposed to stop at their red light, your light will turn green and you proceed. Then after you pass them through that pull-out, their light turns green and they proceed. However, these are not accurate since the entire system is still being built.

BUT, this is SL, since no one will actually follow these rules, it's a good thing our trains will just pass through one another as though they are ghost trains. LOL

And, yes: SLRR is Second Life Rail Road. :D Since Bellisseria isn't completed, yet - anyone wanting to really experience it should go to Heterocera Atoll - the SLRR there is amazing with so many different paths and destinations to take. And the "Maze" is a total blast to navigate. The difference there is that it has been there since that continent was built (circa 2006) so it is a bit more manual: if you come to a split in the tracks, click the small road-light on the track you want to rail on, so it turns green. Click a switch at a junction to choose which way you want to go - these are toggles: click once to change, click again to change it back.

The Bellisseria system is pretty much automatic, except (I presume) the forked areas where there will need to be a switch so you can choose which way you want to go.

The SLRR in Bellisseria is still a work in progress in most of the new regions. With the release of Victorian I was unable to keep up with the demand of scripting and had to put the SLRR on-hold for a moment. Starting early January you can expect all of the remaining SLRR tracks to be finished :)

You take all the time you want and need! I decided to fly along the tracks just to see what's there and Oh. My. Gosh! Wow! There has to be at least as much, if not more track in Bellisseria than Heterocera Atoll!

So I have only one question: Do you squeak when I hunt you down and give you a super-tight BEAR-HUG!?

Since I scolded someone else, I have to be fair and do the same here -- you aren't really supposed to advertise you own stuff.  If you take a picture of a room and comment on the stuff, you can comment that you made such and such pieces.  If people ask, you can then tell them where to find them.  However, you aren't really supposed to just take pics of things you made and say you are selling it and where to buy it.

That is true, which is why I did not provide a link. At other times I've done the same I am always asked "where can I find it" - so I tell my alt's name. I'm not saying go get it or even go look at it. Only that I made it. :)

  19. The tracks are not finished yet, so I decided to fly along them (as in: staring at my butt type flying LOL) and in SSPE366 I saw this!

    Snapshot SSPE366--20191227_001

Though the tracks continue past this. It's just a single one-sided prim, but it's not phantom, though I wish it were and that they'd leave it there. C'mon @Squeaky Mole - this is a must! It's just way to much fun to come up to that! And there is a LOT os RR track. I mean it is easily 5 times more than what is there when they released Campwich.

A little context on water: We went right past each other in discussing this, @Alyona Su , because neither of us was thinking of the other person's habits!  I rarely use a motorboat, I figure if I'm gonna do that, why not fly?  Not only do I generally sail, I like to sail using SL wind.  It's more natural to have to cope with whatever the wind happens to be doing, even though it's sometimes low and changeable.   But you, of course, are the queen of motorized vehicles, I should have realized :)

Your response, though, indicates that you were thinking of motorboats.  Of course, you can navigate just about anywhere in a sufficiently small motorboat.

The thing about sailing is that you definitely cannot go closer to the wind than 45 degrees; in most boats, it's closer to 60 degrees.  Which means there's a 90-120 section of the compass which is nogo; if you want to go directly into the wind, you change directions (tack) constantly to do so.

In SL, on many boats you can instead set the wind to whatever you want.  Then your boat will behave as if SL's wind were actually coming from your chosen direction.  I use this sometimes to get out of tight spots, but if you're going to do that habitually, why not just use a motorboat?

When sailing, it's nice to have spare water around so you don't have to tack and jibe like your boat has the DTs. Or set the wind every region or two.

Good points! Though I admit when I sail I usually set sails to autopilot LOL Sometimes I'll do them manually, but I too lazy LOL. Though when I fly helicopters I like the Shergood the best because even though they have autopilot, they actually work (and will crash) like real helicopters - you actually fly them, you don't drive them. LOL

As for the missing region block, I really do suspect they'll put something in there. There is just too much "that makes sense" all over Bellisseria, so that would be a gaping hole where none exist elsewhere, if that makes sense.
