STORM-1800 avatar vertex weight discussion.

Connor Nowles wrote: I believe it is said, it won't be fixed because it would break content.. But i sometimes wonder what content and how much content it would actually break... I think you can get an easy rough estimate ... just look at how many people run their SL viewer without enabling advanced lighting, wear texture hair, complain that their computers have to run SL with a < 32m draw distance and all sliders set to low and you get a feeling for how many people are using very old content for both their avatar clothing and attachments in SL. I have ALL the content I've purchased or acquired in my inventory dating back to when I first logged into SL in 2007 and I doubt I'm beyond the bell curve of residents in SL. -
Four, now five with me included, paying attention to this thread (and the vital service it duscusses). It's obviously of major national security interest! I can't believe we don't have CIA operatives on the ground in San Fran investigating and hiring hookers, and why isn't the NSA sending drones out to surveil "the usual suspects". Its a slow day in the forums so I thought I'd contribute to the internet rage and drama. :smileyvery-happy:

Alucard1875 wrote: I should be able to click load and bam there it is ready to play. The thing is that SL is a virtual world that has to be streamed to your computer and rendered on the fly ms to ms not a video game that's installed on your HDD. What you describe sounds like a connection issue. As has been recomended turn down your draw distance and reduce your incoming/download bandwidth to no more than 80% of your "tested" internet connection bandwidth or 1500kbps whichever is lower. And SL is not friendly to wifi so make sure you're connecting to the internet by ethernet cable. Good luck.

My EVGA GTX 560Ti runs at 38C while I'm typing this ... if I start SL it runs closer to 65C ... not a problem. It used to run a bit hotter (70-85C) because the NVidia default fan control doesn't really ramp up the fan speed until about 70C. I use "EVGA Precison X" software to monitor temp and scale my card's fan to ramp up sooner and keep my card cooler. You might try "MSI Afterburner" to ramp up the fans on your card if you'd like to run it cooler.

I don't see how identifying a possible glitch in the bridge is promulgating distrust. -
