  1. I purchased three plots of land between 2244 and 2311 yesterday SLT, the transactions show in my account, I rezzed a number of objects on the newly purchased land then logged off. When I logged on again the land was still showing the previous owner and for sale to me. The objects I had rezzed had disappeared. I realize I need to raise a support ticket but thought I'd ask has anyone else experienced this issue?

I attach two of the three as they were Guy Linden plus the land tab as it appears now.

  2. I've followed this thread from the very beginning and get updates via email. I just want to say that what's been created in Belisseria is astounding. I would never have expected a connection from Sansara to Jeogeot and now onward north through Satori in the time it's happened.

To all those who have planned this and for all the creativity and hard work I want to say a heartfelt thank you! I will look forward to what happens next.

Oh, and thanks for keeping the thread open as it's a wonderful history of the Bellisserian expansion.

  3. I've just had a look at the world map to check the extent of private region relocations showing how much space is available to further develop Bellisseria. The second map shows the same in the north east where the new land is being developed. Everythng below the red line is clear.

Standing at the eastern edge of SSPKermits Green both the ground on the edge of the 'lost' region is visible and so is the outline on the mini-map. Maybe it'll come back online :)

    Anyway around this ?

I think it may have been an imaginative April 1st post Daniel...?

Do you own any land in that area?

I own a 512m open to all water plot (you can just see the LCC sky sign) where the green line is, the blue line is a Linden channel and the green box my proposal.

Just to clarify the plot on the corner of Yongchon is a store that has been in that location since 2006, today's traffic is zero and I have just noticed that the wall is 4 meters back from the region and plot boundary suggesting perhaps that the owner tacitly allowed for access across the corner. It is actually easy to do now I realise that as you can cross into Yongchon in a small boat and then the crossing is a normal one into Haneulgil. Same in reverse.

I just completed the journey by boat and it was a great journey. I hardly needed the ban line HUD, partly because of the map above. I recommend this journey, and anyone wanting to start in the north west can rez at my open water land in Viticuso or one region to the west in the Milio Linden Rez Zone.

  8. As those in the know will know if you aim your boat at speed at the left hand corner of this wall you can get across to the waterways beyond. However it does not always work and spoils the immersion for those like me who get into 'character' when sailing in SL. I realise that new regions cannot be spun up all over the place but I wanted to start this thread to see how many, or how few, other suggestions there are where navigation and user experience could be increased significantly.

My reason for nominating this location is that with the houseboats and old Bellisseria to the north what may have once been a backwater could now be a popular location for sailing and there would still be a region of separation to the fantasy island. I acknowledge that currently this area is quiet, traffic today is 8 in Edmund Fitzgerald and 34 in Haneulgil but I am sure that is only because it is currently a 'dead end.'

Does anyone have any thoughts or other nominations?

I have been watching the map, and it seems like a couple more abandoned parcels up for auction appear almost every day (the most recent being in Hardknott). There's a big chunk of Grizedale that was purchased today, and it looks like the new owner is hoping to deed it to one of the ERC land groups.

I won the Hardknott auction and while my passion is boats and exploring I am very conscious that I am in an area of historic importance and hope I can make my small land sympathetic to the surroundings and as far as possible to the ethos of the area. Whatever I do it cannot be as bad as banlines and this building just up the river:

  10. I've submitted my first ticket to request an abandoned plot in a region I do not own land so we will see in a few days if restoration via support tickets is an option.

Making good use of my favourite gadget the wonderful Land Survey tool which lists parcels, owners and size. Highly recommended.

  11. I know I am far from the first to do this and won't be the last but I wanted to share that I negotiated with the owner of the majority of Clyde in Sansara who was selling his land to purchase a 4096 private channel to ensure public access for boats from the L shaped lake to Bay of Space Pigs. Hopefully the sailing community find it a useful link.

There is a Linden channel to the eastern end of L shaped lake but it leads to a 4 way region crossing whereas the Clyde channel is a clear route across the end of the Jessie Wall.

    Channel in green.

If I recall the chronology correctly, way, way back you had to have land on three sides of the abandoned land to even ask. Then there was a time when all freshly abandoned land got a brief grace period for reclaiming then got set automatically for sale. Then that practice ended and there was a blog post or something saying that the rules for requesting abandoned land were being relaxed so anybody with land in the region could request it, first come, first served, but in practice there was always a carve-out for double-prim and Adult and maybe protected waterfront, etc.

And then somewhere along the line it got weird.

So I think it's worth asking, any time you find abandoned land that looks appealing. Worst case, they'll say no.

Thanks for the reply and historic background. I'll give your good advice a try and report back!

  13. Hope it is okay to reopen this thread with an associated topic that depending on the answer could help restore mainland a little. My question is do LL action tickets to sell abandoned land to any premium account i.e. is the requirement to own in the same region no longer in force, or was it a myth?

I ask as yesterday having won an auction plot I noticed one of the land team setting a plot for sale to a land dealer and on checking the same region I could not see any plots owned by the buyer. If the answer is yes then I, and others could potentially buy abandoned land anywhere and put it to productive use.

Rich uncles aren't required when there's hundreds of spare regions in the earlier Linden Homes Nascera continents.

Those Nascera regions are just sitting there, mostly unoccupied, abandoned and doing nothing. Just think of what could be done with them. Heres some suggestions, for a start....

    1. Sansara continent could have a protected east coastline which allows boats to travel from one end of the continent to the other.

    2. Lonely and forgotten Gaeta I continent could be finally completed and linked to Corsica continent.

    3. Jeogeot could have an entire outer protected coastline added to it, and have its road network brought up to date, which could being new Residents to settle and develop its weird and bumpy terrain.

    4. Gaps in north Sansara continent's terrain could be filled in with new regions which could be bought and developed by residents.

    5. Satori continent could have either a complete east or west protected coast (or both!) which would allow boats to travel up/down it's full length.

    6. Complete Zindra continent. And perhaps even move it nearer to the main continents.

    7. Fix Heterocera continent's single bad coastal region (Tiger) which prevents all boats from completing a full circumnavigation of the entire continent.

Relocate and recycle these Nascera sim regions to places where they're needed.  Or is that too much good common sense?

Lovely suggestions and if I ruled the Linden world they'd all get done.

Back in reality point 1. could presumably be assisted by relocating the Sharp mini continent to Sansara as there is no reason for it to be separate any longer. I realize it is a replica of Sansara so placement would have to be thought through.

Here are the old first generation Linden Home continents still alive as of 9th November 2021. I think the lab should move all these old Linden Home continents near to the Bellisseria continent (south void area) and have water regions linking them all up.

I personally think Linden Lab should keep the old generation Linden Homes as there is still active community living there. If the lab do decide to shut them down in the next few years that will be not good news.

I have long hoped that this might happen after Bellisseria development is complete as I think it likely a lot of first generation Linden Homes will remain owned even at that point. I visited the wonderful Ice Islands south of the most southerly Linden Homes area earlier and was sad that each region had zero traffic in the previous 24 hours. I thought I hope they relocate them as a great point of interest when the Bellisseria project is complete. There is a precedent as the large cruise ship was relocated to the Bellisseria east coast.

I just had a thought maybe an Ice Island relocation would beautifully complement a Linden Home winter theme.....!

On Sunday 31st October 2021, I decided to attempt to sail from the Blake Sea regions to the Mole's Island at Meauxle Bureaux region.  I had not attempted this route properly before, as I had assumed from looking at the map that the route was blocked by Montbard and Terric regions. However, they were relatively simple to navigate through, with Terric having a 15 minute "traverse through" time allowance which was refreshingly generous and considerate.

After reaching Meauxle Bureaux , I paused momentarily and wondered how far south I could go in my boat before the journey became impassable. So sticking to protected waterways and not straying into private parcels, I sailed all the way south down Satori's east coast and to my surprise, got just over halfway down Satori's length but could get no further than Ptesanwi region. This was due to no protected water channel in the next region, Afanasyev.

I plotted my route on this map:

    Jeogeot East Coast 31Oct2021.png

It would seem to me that with a few modifications to existing parcels or some additional regions placed between Ptesanwi and the southern tip of Satori, it would be possible to create a full-length north to south coastal route between the Blake Sea and the Linden Homes Bellisseria continent.

I have also created a new map which shows theoretical coastal sim regions added to both of Satori's coasts, this illustrates that full navigation would require 18 regions on the west, with 21 on the east. With both of these coastlines added, it would then be possible to fully circumnavigate the entire Satori continent by boat.

Thanks so much for you post and the maps @SarahKB7 Koskinen as you encouraged me to do the same voyage in one of my small boats. I am not sure now that I've ever sailed the east coast of Satori thinking wrongly it was inaccessible so the journey was an absolute delight. Every time I see new places I'm reminded how unique and wonderous SL can be and it reminds me why I spend time here.

I'd love to see more sailing regions but I suspect the south west of Satori will happen a long time before the south east. We can dream though can't we! :)

The northwest corner of the Fantasy subcontinent is getting a coastline this morning.  Terraforming looking beautiful! (eta: there is now only one nonexistent region separating Victorian Highmarket, as well as Nelson Eddy, from Fantasseria).

Great information thank you @Nika Talaj

I've just has a sail along the new coastline and can confirm that you can already sail into Selinofoto meaning that there can remain a void between SSPE2730 and Nelson Eddy. This suggests that the next new coastline region will be west of Selinofoto:

At the moment, I see 13 new regions along the south coast (mostly just flat land at the moment), which will probably provide a completely finished east coastline for Bellevaria!  Well done, Moles!  It will be interesting to see if the new regions host stilts, houseboats, or both :)

Great map Nika, though there is only one region south of SSPE2243 east Thatchers Grove so it maybe more like my rough green pen diagram ;)

Also the new blue marker is along the edge so it appears that is as far as it goes (for now).
