Well, hello neighbor! I needed a distraction tonight too while that joint session was ongoing and I rolled a houseboat in Baby Buoy that I might be keeping. I like my Penitent Beach houseboat I've had for a while but now I'm having to decide which I want to keep. I told myself I only wanted a houseboat connected to the main continent (like Penitent Beach) but the Baby Buoy houseboat I grabbed is a square corner parcel (bottom right corner of the region) and has lower lag. It feels nice not being sandwiched between two other houseboats so maybe living on an island isn't so bad after all... Gonna have to decorate and see how it feels compared to the other one.

Actually, question while I'm here... Does anyone know if the open water regions next to these new houseboat regions will stay open sailing water or if they will be filled with homes eventually? Some of the names I've seen hint at being reserved for sailing waters but not all.

None of us know, we can only speculate. I would say that regions laid out as sailable water would stay that way as it creates the for the residents in the nearby homes, and anyone who visits, the ability to sail/fly, enjoy the water and get around easily. I am not aware of any example of such a region subsequently being developed for housing. I think the vision for Bellisseria is enhancing the new continent visually and enhancing the inworld experience. So my answer is 'yes' :)

  2. The Moles have been busy opening up previously closed ocean regions meaning that sailors and pilots etc can now enjoy new journeys over longer distances. Previously Something Fishy was inaccessible:

    also Whatta Maroon:

    Sea Plus:

  3. I am happy to say that I think I have found my favourite Houseboat after some enthusiastic GOH participation :)

It's a square plot but benefits from being set back from neighbours with some public space behind and to one side. It is located near the Bellisseria Fairgrounds and offers some lovely sailing opportunities.

Now I just need to decorate the houseboat :)

  4. I have just used the report function to flag to LL an object clearly blocking the Linden protected channel. What I do not know, as it is the first time I have reported encroachment, is how likely are LL to take action? I am surprised in truth that the object has not been reported before as I it is on a coastal waterway in West Sansara so I'd assume I am not the first person to pass. I got round it by moving my boat past the obstruction via the edit menu but clearly this kills immersion at that spot.

What do others do in this situation?

I am not sure how clear the pictures are but the highlighted boundary is the Linden channel and the obstruction from over and under the water. The boundary line behind shows where the Linden channel starts:

  5. I was out sailing and delighted to find that the previously 'access not permitted' open water regions are now accessible north of SSPE1106 meaning that you can now sail between the log land to the east and stilts to the west and up to the northern stilts 😀

    image.png.ae636c238b62ca4465a3bf163ba918df.png

The northern journey stops at Tide Dyed which is still not accessible (East Flushing and the regions to the north are also still barred at the moment)

An nice alternative to the Berdav 11 is this little Emergency Response Boat, it has the added benefit of being full perm so you can play with the settings and scripts and modify it as you like.

This is a lovely little boat and perfect for the narrow channels in Bellisseria. I use it all the time and apart from the moving camera which is different to the fixed I normally use is perfect away from open water. There are four gears, top speed ~36km/h and in gear 1 a nice slow 3km/h for tight spots.

  7. Flying round the new areas in the east of the log lands I spotted these campers and log houses with lovely views out to sea (SSPE1118). Just inland is the future extension to the railway.

Since the map isn't working so very well, I thought I'd offer this rough drawing showing the current coastline of Logland where it adjoins Margaritaville.  A nice-sized channel leads nearly straight up the east edge of Logland until it reaches SSPE1108.  The coastline bends there to continue westward until it runs out of regions west of SSPE1104.   At present, this leaves a VERY large block of open water north of LogLand leading up to the north "wing" of Margaritaville.   [It is possible that when more regions are added around Really Wet, Too Salty, etc, more Stilts or Houseboats may appear.]   As is typical of Logland, this long coastline is mostly mountainous.  There is a small, deep bay in SSPE1108 roughly opposite what may turn out to be a sizeable island, textured as Logland, in the upper right corner of SSPE1108.

    coastline1.thumb.JPG.94244e1e6c9d64ecac73ac7fe8152fd0.JPG

The small chunk of "island" in SSPE1108 looks like this currently.

    SSP1108_001.thumb.jpg.ec3ced7ce2cdf2ac77eaf28312c8d795.jpg

As you can see, the sharp-edged land adjacent to the nonexistent regions is quite low, no higher than in Margaritaville,, but it is textured as LogLand.  There will clearly be more land added along those edges. Might be some neat properties there!

Another thing I am waiting for is the opening up of the ocean regions such as Too Salty which currently prevents entry. There are regions like this dotted across the recent land expansions. I'm not sure what needs to happen before we can sail across for example to Paige Marsouin from the south.

Interseting post, thanks @Nika Talaj, it  prompted me to pop over to SSPE1108. Looking at the island in the incomplete area it appears that it will become much larger when the missing regions are added:

This extended future island to the north and east will presumably be a transition land between Log homes and the new Stilts to the east. I must say I am looking forward to seeing how the expansion is laid out and how far Bellisseria will eventually go, and how it will finally look.

If a house is Linden Home, does that mean it's in the queue to be released?

Yes that appears to be correct both from reading here and walking through some Stilt regions. It also appears that two of a particular type are needed to trigger them going onto the website.

@Patch Linden  Hmmm... I upped a premium  temp alt just to play leap frog *eventually*, but one of my mains caught the perfect Stilt.  Guessing the Temp Gal should hang onto her catch for a few days before releasing so as to put as little stress on things as possible? (She won't be trying for another Stilt- we only want one in the family).

Anyone wants to see the Temp Alt's, I've already fully decorated at

and that's the one I'll be releasing as soon as things are stable enough

It looks amazing, thanks for sharing :)

Yes. Don’t really see why they made 500 new houseboats... it was rare but not that rare with each new theme

For all the new Premiums, allow for growth, makes sense to me. Better than new paying customers getting no choices.

Still only 3 dots in Bubbly and only 1 in Slice of Life, so HB fans clearly think only abandons are appearing on the LP.

Still only 8 on Bubbly (me +7) and none on slice of life, maybe Houseboats are so last year lol.

The lack of protected water regions adjacent to the borders of most stilt regions is a sad fact.

No way to navigate safely unless you go on a file.

Guess Air transport are much better served to reach the spot where they will connect to Satori or nautilius.

Should not be more cheaper with the cloud to have more protected water regions?

Good point about the difficulty potentially with sailing, do we know the range of the LL provided security orbs?

With your immersion in your sailing, if you don’t actually live in any of your houseboats, then for me, the criteria would be location. It would be great to have a well placed series of ports for you to be able to sail to, with different views and territories on each journey, also being able to have journeys of various lengths too.

Have a look at the map (will be much easier once they fix it) and look to see where houseboats are located and try to get one in each of the areas you would want to sail to/from.

I love being able to travel between my properties. I have a Victorian home extremely well placed next to a rez point railway station and have a camper on the opposite side of the continent. I can drive or take a train to travel between the two, and as the camper is overlooking the ocean too, I can use the rez zone in the region to take to the water. Having amphibious cars is also fun as I’m able to get in and out of the water easily in my camper’s region. I can then make my way to my mainland property in the north east of Sansara.... fun times!

This perfectly sums up my thinking. I originally aimed to have houseboats in key locations as I like to sail from place to place when in 'sailing mode' only using rez zones when in 'explorer mode.' To remind myself which houseboat is where I added a reminder to the parcel description e.g. south to Jeogeot. I hope now the uplift to the cloud is nearing completion that the map will be able to be zoomed right out though I do find invaluable the excellent HUDs from Infinity Freight so at least I can get my bearings.

I don't really have time for house furnishing as when I am not out and about I spend time immersed in my mainland industrial harbor themed 1/4 sim.

I think it's a mistake to go with hard-and-fast criteria for ranking properties; sometimes some not-so-desirable spot will speak to me in particular, when most others are willing to pass it by.  My partner has a trad in Foxbridge that's like that; we just find it really spacious and livable there, and others come and go around us.

That said, I generally prefer houseboats that are directly connected to actual land, and I like them to be in regions with fewer homes than usual (for lag control).

Our boat on Lake Fourze (that's what I call the big round lake, after the lighthouse we face there) checks both boxes.  Plus the view is gorgeous, and there are, I think, 15 homes in the region.  The neighborhoods within reach have a lot of variety.

Although our other boat, my current fave in Kuga, is not land attached, the mole decorations on its little reef are very nice, and there are only 5 homes in the region, with only 1 immediate neighbor.  A friend of mine has a boat nearby in a neighboring region.  I find it very peaceful there, and I really like sailing around those waters.

As to yours, I find it difficult to evaluate properties without a SLURL; to me, the geographic location of a parcel on the map is really important.  Like others, I like that Pearl Coast location!

I don't need a SLURL for your parcel in Ness, because I had it for a while!  I love those older areas, and that spot checked some boxes for me and was very quiet.  For some reason I never settled into it, tho, so I let it swim away.

Thanks for the reply @Nika Talaj very interesting and funny you had Ness parcel!
