I like #6... pretty landscaping behind it...and nothing in front to block the water view...so many of the houseboat parcels make you feel boxed in. I always look for open water...may be a reflection of my real life!

I was delighted to get #6, my most recent one and you are right it is nice to be in some space. It's funny I enjoyed sitting at the picnic table behind by houseboat, felt very relaxing.

Great topic, as GOH has offered much stimulation for me while we have been awaiting the Stilt release.  I am big on water access, not only because I enjoy sailing (or just floating on a tube), but the gorgeous water views usually offers much less lag for me.  Though I have some glorious places, I decided to take GOH to another level this past summer/fall during the Stilt wait.  This time, the mission was to play GOH until I was able to snag not only a Traditional and Houseboat in the same region, but to find them as adjoining parcels!  I aspired to be able to live comfortably in my Traditional, and then be able to walk over to my houseboat and enjoy the pool or get on my boat and head off sailing.  This was, for me, the ultimate GOH challenge - being that regions with Traditionals and neighboring Houseboats are somewhat limited, but the odds of being able to snag BOTH adjoining parcels....IMPOSSIBLE!  I worked at it religiously for months and was starting to lose hope, but by some combination of perseverance, obsession, and sheer luck...one day I pulled it off!  Below is now, hands-down, my favorite place to be in Belli.  I will probably continue to play GOH with the new releases (because it's just too fun not to), but I am pretty sure I will never be able to top this one.

Now that was a GoH challenge @Faye Blackheart, well done on keeping going and congratulations on getting those two! I have seen a few home and houseboat together combinations and thought no that's impossible.

Enjoy them both, you deserve it :)

Oh, and to answer your question. I like #3 and #4 because I see land directly attached and that means I could sail/boat and grab a bike and easily bike around.

I agree #3 and #4 have that extra something because of the protected sandy area. Creating this thread and taking the pictures I realized that the view from #5 is less good although oddly, so far, the end of the road is not a rez zone.

That Pearlcoast one looks lovely to me, but sailing is not my priority. I prefer parcels (including houseboats) that have pretty landscaping and unique touches.

ETA: Which one(s) do you spend the most time at? Which have you decorated? I find if I am struggling to decorate a spot, or I never go there, then that's what needs to be sent back into the wild.

Good question! So far I have been too busy catching and releasing hence the pause and focus on just a few. I love Belli but have alo been playing with my mainland parcel too, also all around water and boats.

With apologies in advance for those who don't play GoH I wanted to start a thread asking how people decide which to keep and which to return. I have shared on another thread recently that sailing my boats and exploring is my main passion in SL and so access to water is really important to me. I am quite an immersive character when online as Lloyd so prefer to sail there and back despite having numerous rez zones on the water in my landmarks.

Right now I have got carried away with GoH and have 6 Houseboats which is quite a lot and as I am already missing the refresh game, I need to get rid of one or two. Question is which and how would you choose? Feel free to add your dilemmas if anyone is in the same situation.

    /me ponders Patch's latest.

The 23rd ... wow, 2 days before Christmas.

/me looks at the grid, which for some purposes is working just fine, but for others seems like a flaky string of Christmas lights.

That said, the only thing Patch cites as a barrier to release is a known uplift glitch in the actual LH release software.  So, they have not been waiting for overall grid stability.   Other software that is unique to LH's includes the LH land page (which continues to work just fine, and there's no reason to suspect that the Stilt homes would cause an issue), and the parcel and home controllers.  If LL is confident about the controllers, and if they are highly desirous of getting the Stilts out before Christmas ....

Well, just this once I wouldn't rule out a LH release on Thurs or Fri.  I think Patch will pull the trigger as soon as he believes the Linden Home release software is working.

But he has been given no promises as to when that will be...

So, yes, given how things have been going I think January is the most likely scenario.  But it's a day-to-day decision.

Commercially LL would surely want to get them out before the holidays which would create a win/win: There would be excitment from existing users who tell friends and family who may join or upgrade and there would be more availability of all LH types due to abandons to get a new Stilt. The only thing, as Patch said earlier in the Group chat, is if the technical glitch isn't solved. After 23rd it won't be before new year due to rdeuced staffing levels (I assume).

THIS. So much this! While I am super happy to have four different LH parcels now that I adore I also crave the thrill of playing GoHs and snagging something new and exciting. It definitely hits the brain like a drug and there is a let down when you can't refresh that page anymore.

I introduced a real life BFF of mine to Belli two nights ago, and already last night he was planning which of his alts is going to get a premium account tonight to go for another home. Uh oh.

Only LL will know the commercial success of Belli, but given its rate of expansion and contractors working on deploying new regions and homes I'd say that not only have paying users jumped up nicely but also average revenue per real life user. Or maybe it's just you me and some other regulars posting here :)

I'm just delighted at what they have created in Belli and it is lovely to see new life in SL!

I currently have an embarrasing amount of land.

My main home is the only rental of the bunch, a full homestead in the private community of Templeton Cove. My oldest mainland is a bit over 5000 square meters by the Nailsworth bridge, and then I also have a 1024 in Bay City across from the Crystal Blue Pool I snagged recently and a 512 in Shermerville I'm probably going to sell. I have a couple thousand left in my tier so I'm keeping an eye out for something nice but priced under market in another cool place, maybe Nautilus City or Horizons (suggestions welcome for other interesting and/or aesthetically pleasing mainland spots!)

And now that I discovered Belli I have acquired a Victorian on my main, a houseboat and log home on two alts, and a trad via my fiance's account.

... I'm a little addicted to land. All kinds of land, as long as it is pretty. Send help.

I feel your pain as I too am addicted to land. I got into the habit when I ran a mainland rentals business but even then despite having nice mainland waterfront parcels by Linden land I still loved the getting away from it all in a Linden Home. Today I just sail my boats and explore all over, no more business, but I still love both land and the Linden homes. I have a 1/4 region in Magenta near the ANWR channel and 6 houseboats. You are a little addicted, I think I'm addicted a lot....!

Well, that IS a beaut!  Congratulations, you have progressed from Belli noob to Game of Homes master very quickly!

Well thank you @Nika Talaj! I did have a lot of help from my 5 alts ;) At least LL get a lot more premium fees from me now. I am now noting the features and benefits of each home I 'won' in GoH to see which I would give up to get a Stilt when they are available. I do though really like the one I shared the photo of though so I'm sure that is a keeper.

Maybe I just miss the 'refresh game'and the thrill of the chase, it's very addictive!

Sorry Daniel, what are the purple SSP regions and where are they?

  13. Don't give up would be my advice, also as someone said above make sure you have tier available. First time I got a houseboat option I failed to secure it as all my tier was donated to by group. There are clearly a lot of people upgrading alts (I know I did) which is good for LL financials, but also a lot of catch and release going on hence keep trying. I secured a houseboat and felt confident to release it as I wanted a better location for sailing/exploring by boat. You'll see campers the most and houseboats the least but I promise you will see them after a day or so.

Purple used to mean the region was in an early phase of development, not sure what milestone makes it move on to green or yellow.  I assume that region is along Big Bird lake, where they're building out along the railroad?

It looks like you are absolutely right, the 'purple' region SSPE1175 looks like it is being worked on by the moles. It is an interesting area, one region notrth is Randelsham Forest which has no Linden Homes, hills, a bridge over the SLRR and a rez zone by a large lake and treehouses. I know I keep saying it but the Moles have done an outstanding job!

  15. I've become obsessed with Bellisseria and its development. I've just climbed Birch Hill and taken this picture in the vicinity and spotted a purple region sky border, anyone know what that means? I've only seen yellow and red previously.

@Luka Hexemyou’ll be able to get a home relatively easily when the Stilts are released. People will be abandoning wonderful locations for the new shiny. I’m looking forward to the beautiful abandons.

I totally agree, the attraction of the new will drive a lot of abandonment. Good job the automated system seems to work pretty well, I've only seen a couple of minor glitches.
