yea sure. I have a few avatar meshes that are corrected versions of SL avatar meshes. Gets rid of the texture problems in certain parts. My opinion is LL needs to add them to the library.
Enterprising people will likely immediately make large breasted and exaggerated gluteus maximus females and anatomically correct male avatars with giant genitalia. Both human and anthromorphs. After all it is SL and the main reason people are in SL is for perverted deviant sex activities (I'm not here for that and my SL is very solitary and I seldom see anyone else because I am not into that) so that vast portion of the economy should be thriving even more with the exaggerated genitalia businesses sure to instantly appear. The question is if a worn mesh can be changed with a script to simulate the various aspects of sexual activities. Otherwise people will have to pause as they shape shift. Not a big deal. I'm quite sure this will very quickly become the most reported on aspect of Second Life. When people hear "Second Life" they will be sure to immediatlely envision Tom of Finland characters running amok. (I am in no way suggesting that is a bad thing btw)
Welcome to mesh in SL.
Welcome turbo squid rips and welcome renderosity DMCA filers. Gonna be a busy time making sure SL "mesh designers" are reported to the actual model owners. Hope LL's legal team is ready for the DMCA swarm. Don't forget the DMCA requires ISPs to permanently ban repeat infringers or the ISP's safe harbor status comes into question.

Thanks for your usual disdain of everyone except LL office hour fan boys. That is not what I am talking about.

So what's next? Vertice limits to wipe out all the home businesses so only the chosen few linden buddies and alts will be in business? With crappy looking WoW style avatars?

Changes to Display Names Based on Your Feedback
A group blog by Secondlife in General
Yes I am one who was early in the call for color identification of display names. I hope you research this in depth. More fonts to pick from would be really cool for role play purposes too.
Question: What happens with third party viewers that elect to override these choices in order to negate this display name policy/decision?

What do we do a case like with http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-2555 ?
The jira was closed by the search team with a terse statement it would be fixed in a week. It was not moved to fix pending. just closed before the fix could be verified. Then that fix release wound up being rolled back and the defect continued. Therefore I reopened it and there it sat. Then with the latest search release the defect was indeed corrected. However now I cannot resolve fixed.
What to do? Ruin the stats with a fake will not finish when it was worked and finished?
Thanks in advance.
ETA: And Yoz has taken care of the jira with a close. Thanks Yoz!

Q I have these recommendations:
1. People like the viewers others make more than yours. You must accept this reality and try to learn why your work is considered inferior by your customers and learn to listen to the customers that are the revenue stream.
2. Try Kirstens viewer. Look on the graphics tab. You will see an advanced tab. People that don't need to go there won't. And that is fine. But those who want a richer more immersive visual experience, and have the equipment to support it, will go there and tailor their visual experience for the purpose needed. Like taking pictures. Or filming. I.e.; it is not that hard to put the options in. Just put them on an advanced tab out of the way. And then take the time to properly document them. Then you solved everything.
3. Never try to tell paying customers you know more about SL than they do. Of course you know stuff we don't. We probably don't want to know how sausage is made either. But we have a different perspective than you. You are not making your money from a business inside SL watching SL and your livelihood erode away into nothing because of one decision after another by LL (some of whom seem to adamantly insist everyone but them are clearly stupid). Yes I am stupid. I bet a lot of money on setting up for this thing and made a decision to concentrate on SL. A decision I now regret. Three years of my life are gone and cannot be listed on a resume and I no longer have any current references anyone would consider reliable.
Go in SL and sink or swim in a content creation business and learn why the customers have issues with your company and products. Then that extra few hours of work making options panels might not seem so bad. The available options are all in debug settings anyway as it is. All this work is looks like a few new forms on a panel to me.

So what LL needs to do before rolling this out:
