  1. It's infuriating and I can't understand why it's taking them so long to fix it. I have to send out land group invites to various renters in the sim where I'm an EM. Until they're in the group they can't rez anything in their new home and that's frustrating for them.

  4. I recently invited one of my alts to join a group. She got the invitation, clicked on it, and nothing happened. I resent the invitation and my alt accepted it and clicked 'Join' and once again nothing happened: she received no confirmation that she had been added to the group and is not listed as a member. Today I sent a group invitation to another alt to join a different group. The same thing happened: Altie got the invitation, clicked 'Join' and that was that. I am an officer in both groups and have the ability to invite new members. Has anyone else experienced this?
  5. LL suggested I change my email address again, and if that worked try going back to my preferred email. Glad to say that worked and I am now getting IMs and notices again.
  6. No reply to my ticket yet, but I changed my email address and verified the new one; for two whole days [GASP] got offlines and group notices. Now they've stopped again.
  7. Emma, what did you use as the reason for your submission please? None of the categories seemed appropriate.
  8. Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I’m on gmail and got my last offlines on 15th. I tried opting out of offlines and opting in again to see if that would fix it, but it didn’t. This is déjà vu for me - the same thing happened a while back and the only solution I found was to change email addy. NB: I still get emails from LL when I buy currency, buy on Mp, or when they bill me each month.
  9. I did that and am still not getting IMs. I contacted Tech Support who as good as suggested my ISP was at fault. It looks as if changing to a new email will have to be my workaround too. Thanks Cindy.
  10. Hi Kolby Yes - I did the usual but to no avail. I've just picked up 2 emails telling me my attempts to buy currency had failed. However, a few minutes ago I bought on the website with no problem, so it may just have been one of those glitches features that make Sunday in SL so special. :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:
  11. Has anyone experienced difficulty buying currency today? I tried twice inworld and each time it appeared to go through without a problem, but my balance didn't update. I tried the old trick of paying myself 1L, but that hasn't done it either. I've checked the website and neither transaction is shown there. I see from the status report there were problems with PayPal, but I use a credit card, and, as I said, there was no error message. If you haven't bought currency today, you may want to refrain or just buy a small amount as a test.

  13. Welcome (or, given the toga, should that be Salve?). I'm so glad to see you having fun in our wonderful world and glad you used the word "immersed". It really is our second life, especially for those of us whose first life is limited by poor health or disability. We treasure it and from what you say I think you will too. An alt, eh? That was fast! Er ... you weren't that n00b jerk with the freebie, um, appendage I ejected and banned from my land, were you? ETA - oops sorry - that was meant to be a reply to Rodvik and not Haruki. Apologies to both. I feel like such a n00b!
  14. I'm on a Mac and use either Safari or Firefox. I tried both without success.
  15. /me checks to see it isn't April 1st and then says: Please keep Support in-house. Outsourcing may seem like a good way of saving money, but ask any consumer - and I'm not just talking about SL, but any consumer anywhere - which they prefer, and which gives the best service. Oh, and please go back to the old system of ensuring Lindens have Resident experience. I'm sick of ringing support only to find I'm the one telling them what to do and correcting their elementary mistakes. But good to know you're listening.
  16. Hello again, Kim I was struck on reading your last sentence just how little Lindens do interact with us nowadays, both in world and on the forums (the shining exception is Torley). Of course SL is so much bigger now that it would be impossible to have that kind of family feeling anymore. but I do miss it. I suppose as VP of Marketing your brief is to attract new Residents and institutions, but it seems to me that much of what has been done in that way has been at the expense of established Residents. I know there must be change, just as in RL, but that change should take into account the original vision behind SL. It was that vision that attracted so many wonderful creative and quirky folk, and sadly some of those, who were oldbies when I joined in 2006, are now leaving. I don't believe they just outgrew SL: I think SL was too busy chasing nice shiny new things to consider them. SL offers opportunities for training and education that existed only in the imagination only 10 years ago. Check out the Ann Myers Medical Center, for example, an educational platform for medical students (SLurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hospital/133/135/25). St George's, University of London holds training courses for paramedics on its island (SLurl: http://slurl.com/secondlife/St%20Georges%20University/66/181/25/). There is so much this strange beautiful world can offer (but then you must know that already ). Oh, BTW, you do know about the Linden Bear tradition, don't you? I'm looking forward to adding yours to my collection. And if you know the person responsible, please get them to fix the smileys on this website.
