Litella (Lie Teller) and her adult demeana (demeanor) must have had one really busy week to have already worked up a forum rant...lol. I could have understood if she'd come here to rant "My 6ft tall, big-chested, adult-shaped and styled avatar keeps getting called a child avatar and booted from clubs. Are people in SL blind/mad/seeing things?" I don't care what photo she posts now - whatever avatar she was using to try to get into adult clubs and which got booted time and time again in ONE WEEK was obviously childish enough looking to worry a high number of club owners. Agreed. I am one of those very paranoid people. I don't care if people play child avi's...not concerned in the least, but I do not like to be around them when I am in an adult or even moderate areas. I say yay to the paranoid club owners. In my opinion, that is very much one of those situations where erring on the side of caution is called for.
  2. AHHHH! I forgot about the SNL character

Carole Franizzi wrote: Qie Niangao wrote: Carole Franizzi wrote in part: @ the OP - if, after one single week in SL you have been challenged over your avatar so many times that you are already convinced that you are victim of some sort of unjustified hate-campaign, you might want to re-examine the look you have created for your avatar in relation to the places you evidently wish to take her. Yeah, there's something strange going on here. If it's not the fault of the avatar's appearance, then it's venues that one should avoid anyway. I'd add that it could be the avatar's appearance, quite unintentionally, and a situation that may reverse itself as one gains more experience in SL. It's pretty clear that the OP doesn't mean to look under-age, but it's still possible that she nonetheless looks under-age in the eyes of those more accustomed to the norm for SL representations of humans. People are paranoid about this, and underlying that paranoia there is legitimate reason to be nervous, given the consequences. That may have shifted the "anchor points" for perception of age cues in SL, which are pretty ambiguous anyway. I don't know about you, Qie, but I took a couple of days to even learn to walk straight. I waddled around for some time in my default avatar, looking like a bad cartoon. Hell, but I'm technologically-challenged. Kids today suss that sort of stuff in a jiffy. Far from impossible to imagine that some people sign up and have the whole thing figured out by dinner-time. Less easy to believe is that after 7 days you are a member of the Ban the Kiddie Avie Paranoia Campaign though. Paranoia is an irrational fear of that which does not exist. Avatars representing minors in inappropriate areas are far from unusual. The phenomenon in SL does exist - anybody who's spent a short time in an adult club will have seen it with their own eyes. When I get my avatar all tarted up in something sexy, I do not TP her into a kiddies playground or a teen music club - why, oh why does asking kids and teens to stay away from "inappropriate" areas (as per LL rules) provoke the label of "paranoia"??? It is not appropriate in any world, virtual or flesh-and-blood, to have people, or representations of people, who are under-age in sex clubs. Why the hell do they want to be there and why the hell are others so quick to beat back complaints using such ludicrous and offensive tactics??? Regarding the initial rant - I've something to add. The OP may feel herself justified in feeling hard done by (though I've already made my suggestion relative to changing either her look or the places she attempts to get into) - however, may I point out that whilst she may have been in SL for 7 days, some of the club and land owners of the places she feels she has a right to enter, may have been here for years and years and spent a ruddy fortune creating their little SL patrimony. What on earth are her expectations - that to satisfy her self'appropriated right to go wherever she wants, these people have to risk getting their account suspended and losing every penny spent so far???? I mean - seriously????? Hmmm...Well, I am no expert :smileywink:...but I smell a troll. Litella (Lie Teller) and her adult demeana (demeanor) must have had one really busy week to have already worked up a forum rant...lol.

It has been a while since I made animations...but I can't seem to recall an option for a thumb-up on the hand during import...I will check when I get home. To answer your question directly, no...I don't recall seeing a hitchhiking animation...but, that does not mean it is not out there...somewhere

I don't recall where the glasses are from...will have to look...if I can find them in my inventory
  6. Marianne Little wrote: It's the dress from Collabor 88, right? I got it in 2 colors and love it. I use just the bottom here as a skirt. It is a few things that can improve the pictures. Do you take them in high resolution? You find that under Advanced menu. You find it here with more tips: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Taking_snapshots I always click on the "More" tab in the snapshot window, and increase the width and height. I started to save my snapshots as squares, in 2000 x 2000. Because I always crop them anyway. This picture is taken in a free photostudio I found here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bosch/117/242/300/ It is several small buildings, with poses for male, female and couples. After 4.5 years in SL, and 1000's of L's spent on crappy snaps...THANK YOU! LOL! Great look!

I have that same hair although it does not compliment my avatar nearly as well. I am highly addicted to Emo*tions hair...I love the way she does color

The depth of their basement 2. The amount of alcohol consumed 3. Their level of disconnection from RL Oh wait! one more.. 4. What planet they are on. "Life Jim, but not as we know it" ^^ La la land seems quite popular. Yeah, I don't know...I tend to do my trolling from my home office or my bedroom. Basements are very rare in my area. I am just arrogant enough to believe that my humor is always in season...I host girls night every third Wednesday of the month, so that is really the only time I drink to anything that would be considered excessive or outside the norm of a social drinker (mark your calendars)...and I am exposed to and connected to RL a great deal more than I care to be sometimes...and thanks to gravity and a corporate job, I am prevented from taking up residence on an alternate planet.

Ahhh...well that makes my response a bit awkward then...hehehh.... :smileywink: I can't imagine why on earth when somebody mentioned the word "troll" you immediately assumed they were talking about you? *coughs* I am at one with my inner troll :matte-motes-evil-invert:

I'm a shapeshifter too in RL-Gravity, she is a heartless mistress! I think we can all be trolls and obnoxious...or the very least, perceived to be. Intentions are a difficult thing to convey in text/forum chat. I can well imagine that if it is as difficult for the mods to determine true intent in some posts as well. Seems a fine line between a legitmate complaint and a display of overwhelming entitlement. I don't envy them the task. I think Carole has provided a useful and workable solution to prevent LL from having to worry about the perception of SL to newcomers/public, with her proposed set up. SL has something for everyone, but it is by no means a one size fits all...and neither are these fora.

  14. Mickey Vandeverre wrote: ok, well did not want to interrupt if it was not for discussion - tend to get into trouble for that now and then. Not sure if I have background correct, just dropped in the other day, and quite an uproar over a sub-forum. The Vampire section? There's a forum for Land Owners, one for Merchants, one for people into Relationship aspects, on and on, this and that .... ....and I'll include here, that I was a little obnoxious to the Ladies who Do Breakfast in their Jammies Club, or whatever club it was.....for getting to take up space and promote their club in the forums, when no one else was doing that.... ....but got to thinking, and thought....maybe it's just a matter that no one else took the initiative. If no one else takes the initiative, and spearheads some kind of a movement or request for it.....then how can you blame another group-type for having that drive? You seem to be of the opinion that you enjoy watching people respond rudely and maybe get a kick out of it? did I read that right? I don't. Sets me off....as you well know. Would prefer that sub-set is not here. But looks like some have been given seal of approval. I very vividly recall some exchanges toward new posters or posters who do not participate frequently or daily, that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up....Maybe that's similar to you reading about vampires? In spite of all the poking by the forum regulars....looks like the vampire enthusiasts are being pretty darn nice! I could learn from that....short fuse here. Also - kinda sets a precedent....on who is allowed to participate here and who is not. Do you not think so? I mean, good lord, I get so frustrated with LL for not doing much promotion, and here they are attempting something, and they've got to deal with a dozen forum regulars who got a wee bit pissy? I watched the promotion - and I watched the numbers - and I like what I see. (well, except for all the poking they received) Looking forward to watching that type of promotional activity again. What kind of sub-forum is it that you want Carole? what type of population or community or event are you interested in contacting LL about to work up another promotion? looks like it's going well, so seems like they would open to that. Have you contacted them yet? Is this your contact to suggest an additional sub-forum? sorry, but I think I might have missed the topic of that sub-forum in your post - lemme go back and read again. eta: well Holy Cow! Looks like you have the chance! No offence, Mickey, but the contradictions and soft admonishment that you delivered to us and to yourself in this post made me LOL. Let's start with the truth: You say: ....and I'll include here, that I was a little obnoxious to the Ladies who Do Breakfast in their Jimmies Club, or whatever club it was.....for getting to take up space and promote their club in the forums, when no one else was doing that.... You seem to be of the opinion that you enjoy watching people respond rudely and maybe get a kick out of it? did I read that right? I don't. Sets me off....as you well know. Would prefer that sub-set is not here. But looks like some have been given seal of approval. Ima says: The actual truth of the matter is that you were not only obnoxious, but incredibly rude and disrespectful to the LWL group. In my opinion, it was harassment and I did wonder why you were allowed remain. So, I guess, yes, it is true, it appears that LL has given the seal of approval to that sub-set, and I consider you part of that sub-set. I do think it is interesting that you continue to be disrespectful to that group by either intentionally, or due to laziness, failing to represent them with their chosen group name, and opting instead for a flippant and dismissive...whatever. Why should your rudeness be more tolerated than those who issue rude statements to those things for which they have formed an ill opinion of? Do you feel that you too deserve to be banned for expressing, rudely, your opinion? You say: In spite of all the poking by the forum regulars....looks like the vampire enthusiasts are being pretty darn nice! I could learn from that....short fuse here. I mean, good lord, I get so frustrated with LL for not doing much promotion, and here they are attempting something, and they've got to deal with a dozen forum regulars who got a wee bit pissy? Ima says: It is interesting, again, how others should be banned because they too may be individuals with a short fuse who speak out against perceived injustices on this forum...but for you, it is just a precious little learning opportunity...and you easily dismiss yourself from the "wee bit pissy." Your activities on these forums have always seemed somewhat curious to me, but I have always just chalked it up to you utilizing the forums for guerilla marketing of your own company. Those of us who have blogs that we publish an address to in signature recognize that there is a hit advantage when engaging in the contentious threads, because, as it is in every forum, those are the threads that get the most traffic and responses, and the trouble makers spark curiosity in others that often leads to blog hits. I have noted that you fluctuate between being the troll, LL supporter, victim of LL and round again...The truth is, when any company, including your own, seeks to silence the critics, it loses the advantage of addressing opportunities for improvement and advancement. I have also noted that you tend to attack other creators, calling them stalkers and publicly demeaning them...but that is just some more guerilla marketing on your part I suppose...Demonizing competitors that produce products that are far superior to your own, may, at the very least, supply you with customers from the sympathy squad. It seems very unethical, but I think we all know that it is nothing of new invention in the area of marketing. If you want a level playing field here and you are incapable of seeing that your own behavior is no less unfavorable than those you speak out against...I wil join you in your campaign and my first motion to LL will be to level the playing field by also insisting that you are suspended from this forum. Otherwise, I am going to have to say that Carole is correct...the lack of transparency and the apparent suspension of the ToS for some but not others during the Vamp PR event resulted in unjustified bans and those individuals should be reinstated.
