  1. Maitreya has the most content support but I'd suggest having here go round some popular events like collabor88, Uber, Fameshed etc The most common bodys you'll find rigs for are Maitreya, Slink Hourglass and Belleza either Freya or Isis can't remember which. Less common are Belleza Venus, Slink Physique, TMP & eBody If you use other bodies you may not find anything with a rig included, this may have an effect on which body you buy. Your problem after that is finding appliers that work for both your chosen head and body

  2. Are you sure the undies are a clothing applier layer and not mesh? If they are mesh which many bodies include there's a very good chance they will poke through your clothes, if they are an applier layer you need to apply to the underwear or tattoo layer (clothing layer can clip depending on mesh item worn) if there is that option in the Tonic HUD. Having not seen any Tonic specific appliers you will need the relevant omega relay and to look for underwear that include omega appliers

  3. Second vote for Onsu i recently got the Maple skybox from there it might not be to your taste but they also sell a really nice 1024 suitable house there too.
Maven are also worth looking at inworld there are a few homes that will fit on a 1024 they are kitted out with really nice kitchens and bathrooms

  4. This is a known issue, if there are things you really want gift to someone. Until the marketplace gets fixed,  see if you can find the item in the sellers inworld store if they have one,  lots of stores will have vendors that allow gifting

  6. Do you mean forum avatar (profile pic)? If so click your name top right of the forum then profile there is an option to add or change your pic. If not the previous answer is correct

  7. My general style is see it, like it, buy it.
For furnishings i'm more drawn towards modern, contemporary, classic type stuff things i can actually see myself having rezzed in RL.
For clothing more casual/smart casual. Don't really go for formal as i don't hang out in the sort of places it's required

They look like system avatars. Then they can use any mesh clothes for system avatars. Also change skin and other parts.

If the are the same avs that have recently appeared in the library they are system, alphas are included for all the outfits in each av's folder

  9.  If you have your own shape that you're happy with there is no need to use the shapes that come with a head or body the creator has provided them as a guide on how their body or head looks best. If your own modified shape doesn't look quite right with a head/body tweak it till you're happy. I have found while these shapes are a good starting point the height has been maxed out as tall as it will go

  10. Which 'layer' are you applying the applier to? if you use the clothing layer you will get that visible line you see camming close. applier stockings work best on the underwear layer

  11. Playing dress up isn't the main reason i log but to suggest an avatar is akin to a Barbie i would agree it's only one part of SL though. it's better than a Barbie or Sindy doll. I like having nice clobber to wear and shopping for things. I tend to wear things until i get tired of wearing them so i don't play dress up daily. despite having lots of things to wear sometimes i feel like i have nothing to wear and spend ages trying to decide what to put on other times i'll just go with something new
