  1. There have been been reports that voice is borked across SL not limited to Lumiya though the viewer is not being actively developed and the most recent version on the Playstore is from over a year ago. I am aware Lumiya has it's own inworld support if you rely on the viewer worth looking it up and joining

  2. I think the estate of Beatrix Potter or whoever currently owns the rights to the Peter Rabbit stories would have something to say. you could well find yourself getting sued if you don't seek permission to use Peter Rabbit in your film. Why not come up with your own character e.g. Justin Hare or Dorian Bunny anything not related to Peter Rabbit

All the shapes that come with his mesh body/head and skin are 7' 4" - 7' 6". These giant guys aren't making themselves tall. They're tall by default, and see tall as the average

Included shapes in female bodies have the same problem I recently decided to turn my tree alt, human and try out some very cheap bodies used one of the shapes included in the free eBody curvy and when I went to adjust the arm length for a "Maitreya compatible" body it's trying out I saw the height was well over 7ft and the height slider had been maxed out. I did modify the height to be a little over 6ft

  4. For mesh bodies they come in different price brackets if you buy a very cheap body you are likely to have very little to no included customisation or body alpha options, no Omega applier support, there may be body parts such as hands/head/feet that you can't remove or alpha out in order to use a different body part or while made with the best intentions it might not be very user friendly. As suggested earlier demo, demo, demo probably more important than the body is the HUD you will use it more than you think. it doesn't matter how amazing the body is if you can't get on with the HUD you'll soon wish you'd chosen something you got on with better

  5. Blogger and Wordpress are still popular sites for blogging. I have a personal blog primarily to document my outfits at the start i opened up a Wordpress account and resurrected my Blogger account. Initially did a post on both sites and decided on sticking with Blogger as it was easier to use and customise plus i wanted to use a background i created on both sites and on Wordpress with a base theme i picked the blog post is overlaid on to the background making it unreadable. On Blogger with the base theme i chose it puts posts in a white page on top of the background. I mainly use the blog to note what i've been wearing with a few travel and feature posts mixed in just something extra to keep the SL spark going

Ive noticed recently that when I wear a lower applier layer my pants or skirt splits under the buttocks when I walk and you can see skin.  Obviously I can't alpha anything if I'm wearing an applier layer and this is a recent problem

If you are wearing mesh in addition to the applier layer you can alpha out the affected area. If you are just wearing appliers try putting the applier on a different layer. The tattoo layer is closest to the body and the clothing layer is furthest away to allow you to wear appliers on all layers

  7. I've habitated a few places in SL but spent the most time on mainland

    • Aesthetics --  I wouldn't really call my home sim beautiful
    • Community -- There isn't much of one everyone keeps themselves to themselves which suits me having spent many years not having neighbours though any interactions i've had with my neighbours have been pleasant
    • Amenities/Infrastructure -- My home sim is sandwiched between a welcome centre and sim with linden roadside rezz zone/pod stop so there's always something near by if i get bored never had any issues getting around my parcel is rented from a guy with a mainland rental estate i've been very fortunate to have been renting it for close to 10 years never had any issue
    • Neighborhood -- A lot of the land around me is either abandoned or empty at ground level the last neighbour of any note in the surrounding sims was a rental community and i think they reduced their landholding not too long ago
    • Cost of Living -- I would say what i pay every week is reasonable the cost has never gone up in all the years i've been renting when i compare to my time on a private estate i am paying less to get twice as much land
    • Safety/Security -- Being mainland you can't really stop yourself getting griefed from objects on other peoples land and i have been victim of someone using particle spam emitters. Intruders i don't mind as long as everything is left exactly as i left it. if someone does something to make themselves unwelcome from my property i can add them to the ban list
    • Freedom of Movement -- Never had much if any issues getting around i think the only time i've ever seen ban lines on my home sim was when a parcel was in the process of being abandoned and cleared by LL.

Overall i'd give it a 7.5/8 i've spent so long on mainland and become accustomed to having the freedom of stepping out of my parcel and being able to wander across  many sims that i don't think i could go back to private estate living

Just adding a  bit of historical info for those not as old as I am (rez day coming up in a couple of days :D). There WAS a time long, long ago when the only people that could get into adult sims were ones that DID go through a long and laborious process of proving they were old enough --- much (if I remember correctly) like the process now used for cashing out linden dollars to Paypal as I remember that Passports were one method used.

Not only was it a pain for those that went through all the steps, it was time consuming for The Lab. The result was that it hurt the economy since plenty of people did NOT want to get verified (me for one as I so didn't care).  That method was abandoned not all that long after its arrival. Perhaps someone else that is OLD can remember more details.

I believe age verification was provided by a company called Aristotle back in the day you could not get on to adult or age restricted land unless you went through the age verification process or had payment info on file. To get age verified you needed official documentation that could prove you were an adult such as a passport, full/provisional driving license, identity card etc. if the web form worked if it didn't work you needed to manually verify and what a joy that was 9_9 you needed to provide a scan of your passport, driving license etc. (blanking out any unnecessary areas was fine) and a letter such as bank letter or gas bill. it was more hassle than it was worth if i didn't need to have done it back in the day i wouldn't have. I can well understand why people did not want to verify and the process was removed

if you have android a great app is Lumiya,  probably not on the approved list because LL is developing their own and want to knock it of its perch I bet

I don't think anyone but the creator of the app and LL knows why it's not on the TPV list any more but it was removed by LL. I doubt it was removed because LL might be making their own app otherwise why allow the other android apps to stay on the list

For Android users, there's the Lumiya viewer.  It costs a few bucks from the Google Play store.  It's no longer on the LL list of approved third party viewers, and I am not at all sure the developer is supporting it any more.  Use with caution.

The viewer hasn't been updated in more than a year around the time it stopped appearing on the TPV list

  11. In the same continent as Ahab's Haunt is Emin Marina it's a little island marina in the middle of the sea with boat slips and a clubhouse. Boats, Life-ring's & Diving gear are dispensed free. In Nautilus there are lots of LL islands, atolls & archipelagos in the seas so head over to Ahab's or Emin rezz a boat open up the map find a patch of land that looks interesting (the giant sandcastle at Valenza is worth a look) click it close map follow the red arrow and you won't get lost

When i'm not trying to make a few L$, I try and decide what to wear until i get bored and want to change, event shop, attempt to take pics, explore & sail, decorate when ever i get bored of my current place. test out things i've made outside of SL that i often never get round to uploading to sell, hanging out with friends
