  1. the Valentine's thing was a not so subtle hint. here's one for Toy....that is not so subtle. (we seem to be struggling here) he can click on those featured listings...look at the merchant's first page of product (best sellers)... is that featured item on their first page? second page? Voila! or Duh! one of those.
  2. Hi Haveit - the 25 prims was not really a magic number, just a ballpark number. I don't sell structures so not sure what a magic number would be, but you can figure that out with some experimentation on your own products. And you might have a market with the higher prim version. Just might not be as large a market. But there is a niche for everyone. By super promotion I just mean that when I put an item into the featured listing slot I push it with some extra promotion to group, blog, twitter...give it an extra shove. You would need to have those things in place to do that, and it doesn't happen overnight. The larger the group, the larger the blog following, the larger the twitter following...gives it that extra push. If you get a lower prim pavilion made, let me know...I'll do some plugs for you...but I think those are wasted on the higher prim version. Most of my customers are into low prims. And the push has to come daily and keep momentum. Not really something someone can do for you with just a few mentions. Great advice from others on getting some more product available. At least get that first page full. I ran a few new featured listings yesterday, and a few of those sold right away...but other sales tripled for the day, so might assume that some of those sales came from featured listing clicks to main store page.... but I couldn't really tell this week...the measurement functions on my merchant page are not working at the moment. Those would be your report features, and you can get a wee bit of info from those by watching hits. I emphasize "wee bit"... beyond that we have to guess and assume a bit. But I do believe that there is huge impact on overall sales from a featured listing if you have other product ready to go. And I believe that trickles into the inworld store, as the inworld sales were up yesterday too.
  3. ah shoot! skipped TGIF cocktail hour to make the new 9L logo in Gimp. Calculated that with a featured listing running on 100 9L items...only have to sell 3.569,593 to buy back those pieces of land I just turned in. Why you gotta be so mean? it was doable. Here's what might have happened... when an item is on that first category page...it sells. and it sells over and over and over again. it hits your own store page the next day...and it sells from there over and over and over again. When they flip a switch or accidentally sit on a switch, and push those freebies to 9L items to front for a few days (not sure how many days it was)....it takes on momentum... then your regular priced best sellers start dropping down pages. then they drop from your own first page. and they keep dropping. over and over and over again. (unless all your items are priced high, then you won't notice the 5L to 25L items swamping your first page - and you won't suspect that the SL economy is crashing) ...and it takes a while to get those best sellers over 25L back up once they flip the switch back. Probably a few days. but betcha it's a blast to watch us freak in forum over it.
  4. That pay-off is not super appealing, considering what pay-off would be on own item. Might want to raise your ante a bit there. Also - you need to give control of packaging, pricing, promotion to your buds there, as that determines success. Good Luck! Actually - I would be willing to jump in on that offer with Ziggy and Dart if it applied to Haveit's Pavilion item. It was Haveit's thread and questions. If you're up for that, let us know Haveit! eta: hmmm...checking out that pavilion, Haveit...and looks like we might have a glitch on a super promotion. It's absolutely stunning, but a little heavy on prims. Not too many people can afford that many prims and we need to go for big numbers. Not sure if we can get those numbers with that many prims. If you come up with a pavilion that has 25 prims or less...I'm in on promotion. oh...and please do not make fun of me for still having the Valentine's set running in August! That would be so embarassing in front of all the professionals!
  5. You should get yourself a little blog with conspiracy theory posts like I did. Then make yourself a cute little link in your signature line like Darrius just taught. I didn't link to my conspiracy theories blog. Letting you have the limelight on that one.
  6. I'm not really sure how that works - do you have a completed page up yet? once I watched the google search solid for a few weeks, I got real picky about where I went and posted on the internet. every time you do that, you leave a mark that shows up in google, and sometimes the mark does not appear as you would like. this forum is a pretty bad case of that, as these pages tend to rank very high, particularly those about me pages that are oddly showing up, and those image pages that have started popping up - but I gave up.
  7. I bet your pavilion would work quite well in an enhancement if you get a pretty pic up and have it priced right, but the main page is kinda a craps shoot - try out the category where you would normally place it. You have to experiment a few times with product - price - pics - sometimes you will score a winner.
  8. ok - check that to make sure it is less offensive. thank you - that was very handy tip
  9. thanks Darrius, that's very nice of you. when I get back from fixing dinner will see if I can manage that, so that my signature line is not quite so offensive
  10. I actually do not know how to do that, and asked one time, but no one offered to help. Most people in this forum hate my guts because I speak frankly, so I don't see potential customers here, and that's not why I'm here...here to get customer service and answers mostly... ...and in this thread because I think that one should know that some consider the banners obnoxious. not the first person to say that. and the fact they are openly discussing their intent....pretty much tells why they are in forum today.
  11. Before someone gets heavily involved in that, they need to be aware that will probably change up their appearance on the first couple of pages of google search. Depends on how they have their name inserted into marketplace listings. If it's important for someone to find you on facebook or google+ or directly to blog...you gotta be really careful on this stuff. I've been battling for weeks with not much success against now 5 about me pages that are being picked up from forum, that totally shot down my blog positioning. You gotta be real careful on that. Not sure if you realize this or not, but if you used good keywords and you have top sellers with lots of hits from marketplace or blog hits... your marketplace listings are showing up big time in google search and big time in google image search.
  12. I find the banners offensive. and I'm hard core promoter. the larger the banner the more desperate you appear. the flashing banners give headaches, and serious ones. I know you can turn them off, but I look to see just who wants to shove them down my throat and avoid their shop. It also looks some people answer a question or comment on each and every page, just to get their banner flashed. those folks lost a potential customer because of that. the pet shop one above is way too big. lost a customer on that one. it's intrusive.
  13. What is relevant can be identified by types of product on the sim and quantity of product available and diversity of product. It's real easy. The product sitting there is what is relevant. Doesn't really matter size of parcel - what matters is what product is sitting there. Where are all the other merchants to weigh in on this flip-flop of the search? Are they just blindly following anything now? and resigned to the fact? or did most already leave? not really sure, rarely see the ones who used to weigh in on these drastic adjustments anymore.
  14. Why are we getting a new inworld search? Why would the search favor those who do not have a lot of product? Why is the search being overhauled from one end of spectrum to another while you're getting ready to bang on the marketplace? Why would you tweak both of our main tools at the same time? I'm not asking these questions to be difficult, just asking in order to make plans and adjust. As I was turning in several lots that I've owned for years, the estate owner has offered to work with me. This new search idea ain't exactly going to go down well with estate owners either - this stuff all trickles out and meanders out. I doubt that many of those who survived the last shift for months on end are going to want to ride this out again. Because we never get time frames on this stuff or never get an indication of which direction to adjust - we just have to wing it blindly, and there is money involved. I hate to pass up his offer - he's been a trooper and taken very good care of me for just shy of 6 years now. Doubt that I am only one in situation considering that. I just had to ask 15 merchants to dismantle their stuff from the free market I had built - and don't like having to do that. As Medhue pointed out in another thread...these flip-flop actions effect a broad range of people, and it all meanders out across the board. I don't like doing business that way, on a drop of a hat decisions...but that's what ya'll leave us to do when you go through these major tweaking phases. eta: ok, well I couldn't wait for an answer any longer - another round of tier fees were due today, so I just closed those parcels up. looks like most are concerned with marketplace.
  15. There were other concerns. One thread is written by Ralph and has the heading "LL" on it And I wrote another thread that has the heading "Q to Lindens" on it. Shall we use a different style "alert?"
  16. Thinking ahead a bit more...that's going to infuriate the dedicated inworld shoppers that we still have, once they hit a few stores to shop and find nothing.
  17. Suspected that, but that makes no sense for a shopper trying to locate specific goods.
  18. Thanks for response, but I did not catch a "completion" time frame. Will assume that the completion time frame is similar to those we've had in the past, and perhaps 6 months. Since we're not clear on where you will end up as a completion, not sure that a Jira will cover what is going on.
  19. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. just did not want to be the first to say this. I'm going in to clear land right now, and the first that will have to go is a FREE market center that I provided as an experiment to try to keep people shopping inworld. Part of that experiment was to see if I could work that operation solely from a social media marketing standpoint - which worked fantastically, and would have continued to work as a FREE resource for merchants and a FREE marketing event on twitter that by the way had a combined reach of over 150,000 for a week in place with serious blog posts and tweets. It won't work now, because you pulled rug out from under me on main store, and I don't have that luxury to experiment anymore. You tell me LL that you don't want that kind of reach for FREE on a weekly or daily basis? Fine - I hear ya loud and clear. That required a huge amount of time and effort, that you do not have to pay anyone for, and that it appears you do not have the skills for at the moment, judging from your social media activity and reach....and it reached people who are possible subscribers. It also reached people who have not logged into SL for months and months - they told me so! and they said they would finally log in! This post that you presented is NOT an update. An Update would have appeared the minute that someone set foot into the office this morning and saw that things were not working. An update is not news that we already know. We already know that the marektplace is not working. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything that Medhue just stated and probably more! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE posting stuff to twitter and seeing 80 hits on a second life pic within 5 minutes, and would have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED to triple and quadruple that for you within the next month, and there was no problem reaching that - the numbers are there. But I have family responsibilities just as Medhue and some others, and the current situation is insanity. Final straw. A simple update this morning at regular opening business hours would have squelched this particular post as well as half a dozen others. It was the least that was required. You guys want merchants who sell items for 9L without paying for large amounts of land? You got it. Several thousand products available for that. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto to Medhue's statement.
  20. I just did a run through on that particular term - (and you shouldn't give up your keywords in forum, or you will lose them for life).... and appears that "stuffing" is working again. Not talking about yours, but some others. I'm not going to do that - that doesn't benefit a shopper.
  21. Thanks Chelsea - appreciate the info. I had done complete flip-flops last year on labeling and product placement in parcels. The adjustments took two weeks each to relabel - then they flip-flopped it back to the way I originally had it labeled. I hope that they will give confirmation on whether or not they are finished before we redo the entire store. thanks.
  22. Dartagan, betcha every merchant posting in forum today has that skill set. I knew quite a few with that skill set that said to hell with SL a long time ago and left. And they had brilliant ideas ready to place into action. We demonstrate that skill set every single day to our own customers. Guarantee you that each person posting today demonstrates a better skill set on customer service than LL does, or we wouldn't be in here concerned. It's very hard to pull off that level of professionalism when the service provider you are using does not pull off the same level, and your efforts are thwarted no matter what kind of workaround you have as backup. I feel no need to present my skill set to LL until they present theirs to me. All they have to do is read my last conversations with customers for the last few months. They have access to that. And it's 24/7 service. I do not wait a week to respond to a customer service request. And if a customer posts something in group, desperate for an answer....(such as this page full of forum postings today)....dang straight I'm getting my butt in there asap to take care of it. Now, tell me whose skill sets you need to verify.
  23. thanks for clarifying. hate coming in here and having to continually ask for answers or at the minimum time frames to know how long we're going to be without income to pay tier. might look like antics on merchant's part too, but without a customer service outlet that will answer a question....not sure what else to do. embarassed to have to do this in front of customers - last resort on that.
  24. Sassy...can you clarify "whose" antics? are you talking merchants or LL?
