  1. We have put up 4 big signs in all 4 of my sims to donate for Japan. I already put 50.000 in them to start with. I hope our visitors will take a moment to contribute. Ami
  2. Hi Argus, the revenue is only 10L per file so that is not that exiting. If it would save me all the dumb work I would be glad to pay 50L per uploaded text file. Ami
  3. Sure we can copy and past. It will work like this: make sure you have a desktop folder and SL running running side by side: write the description file and save the file to your HD -> Rightclick the saved file and choose rename -> Copy the filename in memory -> Switch to SL, open your inventory and create a new notecard -> Paste the file name -> Go back to your text editor and copy the description -> Close the textfile -> Go back to SL and paste the description in the notecard -> Save the notecard. Now, emagine we have around 1000+ notecards to process? Wouldn't it be way easier to just import textfiles just like we do with textures? Go into SL and choose bulk import -> select all text files you need to import and ckick okay. Done! I can emagine people with 10 items online don't need text import, but ! do! Ami
  4. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was refering to uploading a textfile that once uploaded becomes a notecard with the same file name. Just like we do now with textures. That way we don't need to create a new notecard, copy the complete content, copy the filename, paste the content, paste the file name, etc. Ami
  5. Great post! Yes, the rWarder system should be taken down asap. If only all merchants had some level of decency... Ami
  6. Hi guys, I am on the edge of finishing my first updated catalog Decor & Lighting. (1 out of 12) All product pictures are finished, all items renamed and given better description, inworld and in invenrtory and all description notecards are ready. Next step will be setting up servers for Hippo and for the Marketplace. What I need to know is the following; Is there anyone that can tell me if it is possible and if not, if there is a jira for importing textfiles to notecards? This catalog alone is 165 items. If I could import textfiles with content and filename preserved I would be more then happy. Any Idears? Ami
  7. I am running a few Home Page Featured items but when I check, refresh the hompage, scroll the featured items box.... nothing. I don't see any of my items come by, ever... while other peoples listings show up again and again and again;-( ami
  8. Fornicola Butuzova wrote: It seems that sheer numbers of ratings is a huge component as well, as the first 3 pages of our listings are filled with budget home builders who PAY YOU TO RATE THEM! It is called the "rWarder" system. You rate their product and get money for doing it. Merchants with this "rWarder" system just bribe their customers with a few lindens and move right to page 1, and page 2 and page 3. How is this RELEVANT! Bribed ratings? This is allowed to be a component of what is RELEVANT? Very nice post Fornicola, thank you. This is what scares me. I think this is worse then gambling in Secondlife. Systems like "rWarder" should not be allowed in SL! And yes, try sell a 50K house. It takes some skills both in building and marketing;-) Ami
  9. Madeliefste Oh wrote: For a big shop it's important to group your products together by category and it must be quickly clear for the customer where to look for what. It must be an overviewable system that brings order. Hey Madeliefste. This is still a point I need to investigate, I know it can be convenient for the customer to have all related items grouped together but on the other hand it could also be smart to group items that go together well. Example: I could group all lighting or I could group a nice sofa, some lighting, a table and warm carpet. I think that especially in furniture it could be good to show the customers what items combine best. Help them a bit. A store lineup with "sets" also does look and feel less like a shop and more like a "home". Maybe best would be a combination. Ami
  10. I think it is not LL that is killing the inworld stores. LL only provided us with an additional tool to sell our goods. Just like Xstreet was. It is the actual merchants that don't want to pay for an inworld shop and only want to rake in the cash. That is what is killing the inworld stores. I always say; marketplace is an addition to your inworld store and NOT a substitute! If it would help I would be glad to pay LL a commission for all sales I make inworld. Ami
  11. Hey Lexie. As you can see people want LL to fix search. That would be a great idea. While you are working on fixing maybe you can give me an answer on the following; I have read somewhere that the text in the "product features" also were going to be searchable. I thought I was being smart to use the first field in "product features" to tag a listing with a code so I could keep track while updating. iIt looks though as if the "product features" fields are NOT searchable. I would like to suggest some kind of system so we can tag our listings to keep track of updates. So I want to ask you to add 2 editable fields to the "Manage inventory" screen; 1 field for price updates and 1 field for update tags, for instance a 6 letter code? Also some kind of sort function might be handy. Ami

  13. Darn, so much to figure out now again, I feel like a homeless... Ami
  14. Very sweet of you Darrius but isn't it the Lindens that should fix the problem in the first place? What if Toyota tells you, you can fix the failures of your brake by throwing an ancor out of your window when you would like to stop the car.... Common Darrius... Ami
  15. Can we also flag Lindens Brooke? Ami
  16. Description" The Kansai region or the Kinki region lies in the southern-central region of Japan's main island Honsh. The region includes the prefectures of Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto and Shiga. Sometimes Fukui, Tokushima and Mie are also included. While the use of the terms "Kansai" and "Kinki" have changed over history, in most contexts the two can be considered the same. The Kansai region is the cultural and historical heart of Japan with 11% of its land area. The area also contains six of the seven top prefectures." So, the word "Kinki", not to mix up with the word "Kinky" is a BAD word... Mmmmmmm... I wonder, do they have a spell checker at LL? Ami
  17. I have seen a few good ideas here. 1. was about giving teens an easy to recocnise tag, for instance in their profile that shows they are teens and 2. was about making the Marketplace a "no go zone" for teens. We already have maturity settings on parcels, so, if LL should pick up these 2 ideas the problem would be fixed without herassing us merchants. I am getting a little bit annoyed/angry about the stupid maturuty/teen discussion. People are putting way to much and way to valuable time is this "so called" problem. The internet is "open hunting grounds" for teens already so why create a problem where there is none. Ami
  18. Thanks again, I see a lot good suggestions. I am not going to relabel all my items and land yet but I wanted to get ready and explore the do's and don'ts first. Like Mikey said, It would be stupid to get started before the final rules are set by The Lab. Thanks again. Ami
  19. So, for optimal search results we should devide our islands into little parcels with specific names? Ami
  20. Thank you guys for your feedback. One other question; does size matter? I mean, if you have a parcel with a description about furniture and prefabs that is the size of a complete island, does that parcel rank higher then a parcel with the same description but that is half the size? Ami
  21. Okay, I have a few questions concerning search. I am trying to build item descriptions for inworld use but I need to be sure of the following; if I put the below keyword string in the description field of my item. Do the keywords have to be in sequence to be indexed? In other words, will the item also rank for "japanese rugs" or only for "japanese carpet"? Keyword string: asian oriental japanese carpet carpets carpeting rug rugs floor floors flooring tatami mat tatami mats matting Ami
  22. Autumn, yeppers, works like a dream, finally I got rid of the hard edges. I will probably stick to V2 now;-) Ami
  23. Hi guys, I noticed that the graphics in the Viewer 2 are not antialiased. When I go into Prefs -> Graphics -> Hardware and set antialiased t 2 or 4 nothing changes. Are ther any other settings that need to be fixed first? Any idea, anyone? Ami
