  1. @Suspiria: Beautiful avatar ty for posting, very nice curves... those wings :smileywink: 5' 10" is a very good height in my opinion. My avatar is a just over 2 meters in height.
  2. It's the person who is most upset that posting a reply doesn't top the list. Shame on you.
  3. @Cato, it's the immigrant thing. I don't want to get caught up in rl issues. There are plenty of Forums for that. It's cold outside and such is life in this region. Was just passing time waiting for the spammer to go away, and now I've become one.
  4. My days are numbered and I'm already feeling very sad about that. With all the gleaming raves and the general good speak of the New viewer, I can hardly wait to be forced to update. I can wait to be able to play any media on any surface. Why viruses are not media, I don't know. I'm sure it will grow on me like mold, fungus or a tumor but in the end it will all be for.... viewer 3.0?
  5. I have a more severe condition, I'm a loyalist. Yes, I know it's a horrible thing to be. Always working with what I have instead of hoping for what I don't have.
  6. I don't usually decorate my avatar. I'm attracted to shiny things. I used to have a very tall avatar, I worked on most of my buildings from the outside only. I don't use sound or voice. I stopped using sound in 2008 and never really ever got started using voice. (I have a wonderful voice so don't start that crap)
  7. I have to go to the store but it's freezing outside. Why do I live here?
  8. Does it have to be friendly? Spam is not welcome:smileymad:
  9. Boots on the ground. In person survey's will produce higher quality results than automated devices. Paying is an excellent incentive, and advised. Do you want good or cheap, those are the choices if you personally don't have the time to meet and greet with 500 unique Avatar's, some of who, will be very unique. Data, most people cringe at the idea of visiting a privately owned 3rd party website to fill out a survey. An inworld data collection/transfer solution would be ideal. Most recognized Businesses (get references) ranging from help groups to construction companies to clothing store owners could arrange and conduct a cost effective survey. What is important is that work with people you like. Know your audience or find someone who does. If the target for the survey is low. Get some L$, form a group, wear a tag to show you have a survey group, visit public meeting places like Tele-Hubs or areas specific to your survey. You give Residents who inquire a survey Notecard, they fill in the blanks, return it to you, you pay them the L$. Be sincere.
  10. That link might be dated and not an ideal solution, so I removed it.
  11. Once in a blue moon when stay in SL past the hour of midnight... I turn into a pumpkin, no jk. The time on the clock on my pc jumps 3 hours ahead.
  12. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Avatar/How-do-i-get-my-skin-and-shape-to-rez/qaq-p/717269 Another Resident had a similar problem, you can read some the the solutions provided at the above Answer's link.
  13. Are the servers for the different maturity rated items run, stored or drawn from isolated servers? Or, is it all on one. Maybe it's a filtering problem
  14. Start by getting a pen and paper, at the top of the page write "What I want" then write something. Only you know what you want. Never accept opinions as facts Free advice is often worth what it cost Alert yourself when you hear someone talk in slander or discourtesly towards another. What they do in your presence, they will do in your absence. Do not disclose what you want the answer to be, ask leading questions. Be concerned, your job is to find problems and provide solutions. Follow the habit of asking "how do you know?" Control your emotions, control your reactions, flexible people do not get bent out of shape. They spring back from hardship or failure. You have the greatest influence over what you do. Do not accept anything from Life or people that you do not want. There are things you can fix and things you cannot. Stay focused on what you want. With each new success you will be rewarded with additional means and opportunity to provide for your life and family as you see fit. Focus on the Can Do stuff, take action right now. If you ever feel so unfortunate that you feel sorry for yourself, look around for a person who is worse off than you and then go help that person. Emulate good people, take the initiative, maintain a positive mental attitude. Find like minded individuals.
  15. I prefer to use the press hold Alt-point click- Ctlr- mouse scroll method also, I think it's better than the camera controls. There is this reset to default feature that I have to constantly battle. Everytime I camera to a new area that default feature tries to rotate my camera. If it would at least rotate it to any right angle I would be ok with it but no, it doesn't.
  16. At your account page? or is it in Preferences? Type of Content I want to view. hmm I'm sorry I cannot recall, maybe another Resident has a clearer answer for you. Anyone... Bueller?
  17. In 3D computer graphics, anisotropic filtering (abbreviated AF) is a method of enhancing the image quality of texture on surfaces that are at oblique viewing angles with respect to the camera where the projection of the texture (not the polygon or other primitive on which it is rendered) appears to be non-orthogonal (thus the origin of the word: "an" for not, "iso" for same, and "tropic" from tropism, relating to direction; anisotropic filtering does not filter the same in every direction). Like bilinear and trilinear filtering it eliminates aliasing effects, but improves on these other techniques by reducing blur and preserving detail at extreme viewing angles. Anisotropic filtering is relatively intensive (primarily memory bandwidth and to some degree computationally though the standard space-time trade off rules apply) and only became a standard feature of consumer-level graphics cards in the late 1990s. Anisotropic filtering is now common in modern graphics hardware and is enabled either by users through driver settings or by graphics applications and video games through programming interfaces. Quoted from Wikipedia It helps to sharpen the edges of images when viewed from a distance or angle, I think.
  18. In preferences you could try to toggle the play streaming music as a way to refresh.
  19. Spring around the corner? Didn't you see the movie Groundhog Day? Winter is never going to end! (and other bits) What other bits? Did you mean bytes? :smileywink:
  20. Do you get a corresponding Calling Card in your inventory with each new friendship offer? I'm thinking and thinking and all I can think is "does your husband like to play games" Possibly send you on wild goose hunts?
  21. In Preferences Ctrl-P is a check box for "only my friends can see my online status" but checked or unchecked your friends would still be able to see you. I have seen this with one of my friends, she was not completely logging in. Her Avatar was a cloud. Any crazy detailed photos in your profile that might cause it to not load? I can try to view your profile. I only use images from servers stored in Antarctica, gives me time watch the grass grow.
  22. Sounds like the texture could be still loading, or, maybe they are scripted, or possibly you're not wearing them properly. How they attach I have no idea. Did you look to see if an information notecard was included? Swizzle is really close to twizzle and who doesn't love twizzlers, so I had to answer.
  23. Still using Dial-up? Do you change anything on your PC or on your avatar? Are the programs on your PC updated, when's the last time you updated your Graphic Drivers? Are you able to open your Statistic Page or Fast Timers while in SL? Could you capture a snapshot and show interface? If SL was working before it should still work. Do you get the request message to send a crash report when trying to login after having crashed on the previous run? Sometimes support can find helpful information in the report by sending them a copy of the crash report upon their request.
  24. I like how the replies are hidden. In the previous format, some residents would arrange meet and greets in the middle of a thread. Half way through the Post the original question or topic would be lost in a endless scroll of back and forth replies to replies.
