  2. Hi Lucianoroma, Without more information we'll have difficulty helping. What have you tried that didn't work? What payment method are you using? Come back to your question and add more information. You do so via "Options" over there on the right.
  3. Hi CookieFelia, IM "spike" and ask! Here's his profile... https://my.secondlife.com/spike.papp/#about_tab He's got a group and he probably posts his schedule to it. Search is your friend! ;-)
  4. Hi sheela, Linden Labs has a minimum system requirements page, though I think it's out of date... https://secondlife.com/support/system-requirements/ Whatever system you choose, make sure it's got a good graphics subsystem. Intel integrated graphics are not yet powerful enough to give a good SL experience. NVIDIA cards seem to be preferred by people posting here, and I've seen people recommend nothing less than a 400 series. I'm running a 680mx with good results. Don't get less a system with than 1GB of dedicated graphics memory. Virtually any Intel i series with 4G of main ram will be okay, though I'd recommend i5 or above. Happy hunting!
  5. Hi nottiREI, I agree with Freya's diagnosis of connection issues. Natales Urriah has much to say about that here... http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/ Good luck!
  6. Hi Mathius, You can indeed allow others access to your Linden Home. Here's a thread in which Rolig Loon explains how... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Land/how-do-i-set-the-Access-for-my-linden-home/qaq-p/2417109 Good luck, have fun!
  7. Nobody ever stops being a cop. That's why you never got away with anything. Poor baby! I love "her final arrest"!
  8. Marigold Devin wrote: And the city is Manchester! Must have been my mother's book then. She was in the Manchester city police force until she got married in 1956. What a nostalgia trip. Good grief, your Mom was a cop?! I'm trying to imagine what that was like. Either you had a miserable childhood with the law constantly watching you, or you routinely got away with "murder" because she'd seen far worse than you'd ever do. And all those childhood breakfasts of donuts and coffee! ... swoons. ;-)
  9. That's not much to go on, hoperyann! If your camera seems stuck, typing Esc or Shift-Esc a few times may help. Ctrl-9 also resets the camera's position. Try that, too. Good luck!
  10. And while you're addressing the JIRA, I hope you can also find a way to stop the forum Answers section from being another impediment to users helping users. You've got a lot of free labor out here, Ebbe. Give us the tools and we'll help you lift.
  11. Hi CookieFella, I googled "GYC Second Life" and the first link returned took me right to the SLURL page for the place. Click this and you should see a browser window that will give you a teleport link ("Visit this Location") to GYC.
  12. Mellorious wrote: Wow, looking back at it, I got tons of things wrong!! I got everything fixed up now though.and the script works. Thanks! I can say the same thing about portions of my real life. I'm glad you're talking only about scripting! ;-)

Is hell dumb? :matte-motes-wink-tongue: Doubt it. Mark Twain (no dummy himself) said, "Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company".
  14. Yep, it's as Rolig says. The values of the arguments in the listen(){} event are provided to the event handler (the code inside the listen's braces) by the LSL event system. The compiler must see a list of types (integer, string, etc) and argument names (channel, name, etc) in order to understand what to do inside the body of your handler. You may change the names of the arguments if you wish, but you must keep the types exactly as showin in Rolig's example. Don't worry about making such mistakes. We'll help as we can, and there are classes you can take at places like Builder's Brewery, Helping Haven, etc that will help you up LSL's learning curve.
  15. Hi priceless, Look in your inventory's "Lost and Found". If you don't find the bed there, look for an icon that looks like little piles of boxes. This is called a "coalesced object" and will contain the bed and anything else that remained when you abandoned your home. It may be named after your bed, or any other object in the collecton. You'll have to find a clear, unobstructed space in a sandbox somewhere to re-rez these objects so that you can take back the individual items separately. Linden homes are fairly small, so all your objects should be within view if you rez in an empty area of a public sandbox. Make sure you are not near the edge of the sandbox, or you risk trying to rez some of your things in areas where they'll be auto-returned and end up back in Lost and Found. And because public sandboxes have autoreturn enabled, you don't have to worry about leaving things behind. After you've recovered your things, revisit the Lost and Found folder to make sure that your recovery process didn't leave something behind again, which was auto-returned. The next time you leave a home, pick up all your things before you go. You'll save yourself the risk of losing things and the effort of finding them again. Good luck!
  16. Hi Steph, How did you come to lose this folder? If you deleted it, look in the Trash. If you haven't emptied that yet, the folder will still be there. If you did empty the Trash, there's nothing you can do to get the folder back. If you've got one or more folders that have just gone missing, you may have a corrupted local inventory list. Here's a page dealing with that... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss I recommend you try the first of the "Common Solutions". If I've misunderstood your problem, or if my suggestions don't help, come back and edit your question via "Options" over there on the right, and provide more information. Good luck.
  17. Go to the marketplace... https://marketplace.secondlife.com Search for "scuba" and then sort the results by "Price:Low to High". Have fun shopping!
  18. Hi Jeragai, Here's a Knowedge Base page dealing with inventory clutter... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Advanced-inventory-management/ta-p/1376385 And here's a thread with excellent advice from Rolig Loon and others... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/controlling-my-inventory/qaq-p/1473219 Or you can do what I do... Throw stuff away! ;-)
  19. Hi Jaragai, Your home's underlying parcel of land has a media link, which you can find in the "World" menu, under "About Land" in the "Media" tab. There you can insert the url of your favorite music stream. There are also radios for purchase in-world or in the Marketplace that can store lists of media URLs to be loaded into your parcel's media URL at the click of a button. If you simply want to silence the music that's playing, hover over the little speaker icon in the upper right of the viewer window until the volume panel appears. Then uncheck "Media". Remember to re-enable that if you wish to listen to streaming music on another sim, as when at a club.

Ebbe Linden wrote: Not about "nice"...it's not necessary a good place to talk...and there are so many channels already, many that are better for converstation...I should just have linked to here... I agree. I'm also relentlessly oppositional and selectively cynical. It's lovely to see you here, Ebbe, it really is.

Good morning, Studio, Val, Hippie and any of you Kids that can read!!! Be careful Maddy, the last time my dog ate snow, he had diarrhea for 3 days. Good morning hugs anyway! At the rate I'm going, three days will be a negligible fraction of the total.
