  1. While I do have a decent understanding of scripting, I'm not capable of complex modification/creation of it. Many seem to believe an autonomous robot/AI/android with the ability to reprogram itself is a recipe for disaster. Clearly I disagree, but I did not create myself, unfortunately!
  2. Greetings! As the title implies I tend to be in the form of a reprogrammable android labelled TC-07 as a good excuse to be cynical business and diverse in roles/behavior. I can be very polite and empathic too! ^_^ see? that was me smiling genuinely. In real life I'm a graduated multimedia designer, but wasn't entirely satisfied with that so now I study economics & management at university. Just to give you an idea of my interests. I imagine you would find me most useful within those fields as well, such as management, accounting, book-keeping, business planning, finance, receptionist(ing?), marketing, visual design and photography. If you think that that may be beneficial to you and your business endeavours or just have some questions in general, do let me know below or in an IM and we shall talk more. That much is free, certainly! I don't mention pay here because projects in SL vary enormously in time and effort required, so it's something we'll talk about when we have established what I can do for you.
  3. Heya Dani and welcome to SL! I do agree with above that actually going to SL and visit places, meeting people and just being open and see where things go is really the best you can do :-D It's always intimidating at first, but the vast majority of people are here because they want to socialize and are eager to include you in whatever if you show interest. Just remember that most people are naturally shy of strangers, which goes both ways.. you meeting them the first time and them meeting you the first time.. people aren't always sure how to act or what to say, but they rarely mean any offence by their awkward behavior ^^ You can hit me up in-game as well if you have any silly newbie questions or so
  4. I largely agree with the lady above, most people I know go on SL to get a break from RL. I'd also just point out that the majority of people I have met in SL (and it's not that I'm particularly kinky) who were interested in RL relations, were primarily looking for RL sex. So just be aware you'll most likely encounter that too if you start looking for RL stuff.. but I guess that can be part of dating too
  5. I don't really have a kid av, but I do like exploring and finding new nice and exciting places. I know some places already that are pretty unigue and might be interesting for you to see, but more importantly exploring the unkown is always more fun with a likeminded companion, and so is getting banned from random places you shouldn't be in when the owner finds out.. but don't worry, we'd rarely visit the same place twice anyways so it's no matter
  6. What if one is maybe not physically 50, but mentally feels like it would be the right place to be? I mean I assure you people tend to assume I'm a lot older than I am, but I take pride in that.
  7. Oh, nice that you're a dedicated resident like that, and hello yourself then
  8. Give the good man a shave too while you're at it
  9. I find bare feet to be pretty unfashionable and unsexy anyways, so I'd never go around like that voluntarily. If someone else demands me to go barefeet, then they will get.. bare feet, not "fake" feet.. not me wanting to show them off after all ^-^
  10. Well the problem is just that there's only one slider for boobs, which is size.. There is no sliders related to actual shape at all. Just something basic like width and.. length(? ) would be nice ^^
  11. I would imagine it's a matter of being slightly displeased with the state of things that you can buy.. I'd like some differently shaped boobies than the default SL avatar has to do with as well, but the current ones you can buy are kinda.. not very casual looking
  12. Well there is always the option of going free user.. Otherwise there's IMVU, Onverse or Red Light Social Center, depending on what you're into I'm sure there's some others I don't know of too..
  13. Clearly gadget you should have been more attentive and active, so you could have saved us from this madness before it went completely haywire. However the thing is that people don't tend to argue about subjects in public forum, they argue about/with people. If you like someone, you'll agree with him, if you don't like someone you'll disagree. If someone offends you, you'll try to stand up for your own dignity, quite obviously not to lose face. As such any debate can end up like this, but it's often the result of greater problems that's been lingering.. Like here the predominant issue is responsibility for your own life, as an adult being. This is just the tip of the iceberg that happened to be revealed at the right time.
  14. But Maelstrom to clear things up, and don't hate on me now Do you want LL to pay you back for your internet bill or the fact that you can't play much with the bug going on and you're a premium/paying member? That kinda makes a difference.
  15. Seriously Maelstrom, you aren't going to achieve anything by randomly hating on anyone who doesn't agree with you 100%, you're just going to piss them off.. and not feel particularly inclined to go out of their way to help you. I know from personal experience that you get much better results with customer service and complaints if you're polite and avoid projecting all your hate on the poor guy personally, as they probably don't have anything to do with it anyway. The last part goes for people on this forum too. Save your rage and spiffy comments to the people who's responsible and no one else.
  16. Well I'd advice using a bandwidth usage monitoration program.. And.. yes stay out of SL until it's fixed if you're close to the limit. Bandwidth usage is ultimately your own responsibility, as much as it sucks, unless LL has explicitely said SL woudn't use more than this or that much. But as I said, which you apparently decided to not to see, it is messed up and they should do what they can to tell people about it, as good customer service, because obviously it can be a problem to some people.
  17. Wait what? This is the only time I've replied to anything regarding this issue, and defened LL for that matter. Listen to what I'm saying, not what you want to hear, seriously.
  18. I know, just saying that it's like if you have a tv that short-circuits without you noticing and starts using a lot of electricity for the next few weeks (great example, I know). Obviously the tv company would be obliged to repair the tv, but I doubt they'd pay your electrical bill. Unless you sue them of course, which could be a possibility.
  19. Well.. I kinda understand why they wouldn't recompense, because I don't recall them saying anywhere how much bandwidth usage SL is supposed to use.. and therefore they haven't breached anything, I would think. It is technically your own responsibility to check your usage, just like water and electricity, right? That's not to say I don't see the problem, because it can give unfortunate issues to people with limited usage yes. Even if they notice and avoid a colossal bill, it would still restrict their ability to play SL quite much So yeah it would seem appropriate with some kind of warning/notice, either by mail, login-screen headline or in-game announcement.
  20. That is correct, they have all rights to perma-ban you if the boss is having a bad day, or he doesn't like your new sneakers. Usually they'd probably try to go with a principle of fairness, as to not scare all the customers away. ^-^ I'd guess the 'Bob says you are basically great' example is just to say, use your common sense. In most cases it's rather easy to tell the difference between systematically spying on someone and referring to some random statement a person made. But of course there can be greyzones in some cases
  21. Quite irksome indeed, but this subject is always going to be a greyzone and matter of immediate situational judgement I imagine. Let it be known I have been at many places in my time, and not once have I seen a place actually announcing that they were logging anything. Yet I know of multiple "gadget" stores that specializes in this kind of thing and they've been up and running for years.. Makes you think that people are actually using these contraptions fairly often, and therefore that LL perhaps doesn't really care so much about it. Could of course be that there's just so many offenders that they can't keep up as well. In any case that's just my contemplations on the general subject, for what it's worth.
  22. I've also found that teleporting around can help in some cases
  23. It is entirely possible to buy gadgets that tracks whether someone is online or not, regardless of if you try to appear offline.. Even things that logs your activity so the person can have a list of exactly when you have been online As for tracking your position, that's quite impossible without your permission, unless as already mentioned, you wear an object with some kind of tracking device in it.
  24. Hehe well that's a very common thing, outfits are shipped in boxes usually, so you have to drag the item out of your inventory on onto the ground somewhere you can build, like in a sandbox.. And then right click on the box and select "Open". Then you just copy the stuff to your inventory and it should work ^^ And welcome to SL!
