I see SL as a social media and has hard time to understand some ban lines, avatar privacy settings and security orbs. Just some days ago I did want to look on SL highest peak and did flew there, it was so high up that I not could see any borders and I did not flew to near, but as fast I did pass a non visible line I was sent back home while my balloon did go on without me. I think like this; if you want privacy in the mainland, move the house up in the sky (3 000m and upwards) and mark the grifer/security orbs radius with a big sphere. Land is to get prims and can therefor be keept open for all to explore or to have stores in, or to show puplic information about that land owner not want you to peek in to the big and super visible huuse they dod build for they are a bit afraid the furries may steal the flat screen TV. For how often do folk intrude in to the house? I did belong to a group that had Land in Minna, we had a big house there that was open, but even it was in a popular area near Natoma we had very few users, so I just wounder if intruders are a so big problem that folk has to grief explorers, drivers and flight entusiams to protetc ther privace even they not are online?

Latest time I has seen same thing with folk that use mesh avatars or mesh clothing/shoes, it looks like the feats are in the ground and stay so until I use a scriptad tool (de-Ruth log) to clear mine visible chace. You shall not bee needed to adjust z-offset even if it is possible to adjust the avatar in this way, so I think it may be a serverside bug or a load bug.

I has seen some folk/groups buy land, then they set an high price on the land, so high that very few want to buy that and, then they start to build in the land in a way that looks like they has no intention to sell the land, why do they do so and is it any benefits with have land for sale with no real intention to actual sell it?

Yes I know Linden not can stop coppybotting as little as the Police can stop all crimes commited, but even the police not can stop all crimes so do I not think, "What does it matter anymore" when I see a crieme, I do call the police for it is the right thing to do. I may not AR all suspected copybotters, but I can tell folks that I think it is wrong, point to towards where it say so, just for I think it is the right thing to do.

I did only want to know where in the TOS I could read where I was told was correct or not and to get an short and simple translation of segment that may be good to read. I know that the subject of this post was badly selected, but I did so for I did want attention to get an faster answer, but also to not leak to much information about what made me ask this question. A did also ask for the question is complex and I did think I had to read before I could say if it is would be right, wrong or what we can or not can do.

I has read the "7.8 You agree to respect the Intellectual Property Rights of other users, Linden Lab, and third parties", but it is what tha oldies talk about when they say it is okay to copy things in world, they claim it is about import and export things to and from Second Life and not about makig/ripping copies of Inworld objects. I think it (copybotting) is wrong and want to find a clear text in the agreement that say so, for it a bit hard for me to argue with several older users and say that all of them has wrong when they has made copies of old (public) things that never been for sale and copies of some objects they are owner of but wants to be able to alter the object. But I shall now read wole Tos Section 7 again and see what it realy do say.

I do not like copybotting and did think it was against the TOS or rules, but after seeing copies of famous old builds several old folks has told me that copybotting not is against any rule as long as you not sell, but I think it sounds odd, so I now need help with: 1: Get pointed to where in LL TOS or Rules I can read about copying other creators work. 2: Get a shorter simpler translation of rules like, "Copybotting is not okay", "Copying okay as long as you not sell copy". 3: Get advise for what normal users shall do if they see suspected copies or copybotters.

There is a every big difference between flying in a no-fly zone in mainland and to do it in a game, it is a bit like to say all can use anabola in RL and many do it, so why should folk be upset and call it cheating if folk even do so in the Olympics. There is no legal cheat or cheats that is okay to use, folk often know cheating when they see it and cheaters often knows that the do cheat, and in LR they often say "It is okay to cheat as long as scripting is enabled". If you are grieved you often know when it is a grief, that even LL has no specific rules that say 'what' and 'what is not' is a grief, a particle follower is not against any rules in SL, but use it in a bad way and it is a grief even the griefer say; "It was just for fun", "but the scripting was enabled" or "but other do so". I do feel grieved when I has run for a crystal in LR and then a bot-scripted avatar (not controlled by a human) takes that crystal in front of me and all the crystals in the same area in some few seconds. Think on this: If Linden Realms was an standalone game you did play against other users on the Internet, had it than been accepted that users did use script to collect crystals instead of running in that speed the game was programmed for? No, you had been banned from that game, so why shall cheating be accepted in LR when it is played in world? Script in LR was (what I remember) disabled in the beginning, but new users that use Lindens Labs cat and dog avatars and users that had tinys may have complained, so script in LR was turned on to allow avatar AOs and not to be used for cheating. Sorry, but I do belong the that group of users that not need exactly written rules to be able to know what is grief or what cheating is, I just know it when I been griefed or cheated.

I this FAQ do it say that "griefing/camping/cheating" shall be reported according to the guidelines in Second Life, but all cheaters in LR do say it is okay to cheat for it is a script activated zone, so shall all users cheat in LR to get a chance or shall Linden Labs create rules that say that script giving users an unfair advantage in LR may be seen as cheating? I will even go so far to sat that "speed scripts" and "super speed bot scripts" is the same as griefing in LR for it do destroy for other users and also go against the idea of self running after the crystals. Can not LL just say what "bot scripts" shall bi filed under when users do file an abuse report, I know some that file it under "Fraud $" for they think it is not right that users do use bots scripts to collect crystals do just to get money from LL and not to enjoy the fun of LR, other do file it as "Unfair use of regions resources" for they think that crystals are a resource that all users shall has same chance to fairly collect. Just now LR work so badly and is often use by cheaters that destroys the idea of LR, so I think LL shall close them and replace them with better ones that use pathfinding and has HUDs that kicks folk that during longer time and to often go over normal running speed.

WiFi just give up to 2ms extra ping time so it is a myth that TP cables are so much better, but if there is many other WiFi in the area it can be good to config the router so it uses a channel that fewre do use. Another way to test to reduce load lag may to disable HTTP texture load, this can depend on the ISP if it is faster or not, another thing you can do it to disable clouds, it can give a FPS gain on older computers, also thest to disable some functions in the Hardware section in preferences, I think the info do say what things there can make the system instabile or slower. Another tip can be to lower the resolution in the operating system and look so you not can start the programs with a GFX optimized setting by right click on the SL icon and see what start options you has.

I did look up net trafic through my router and then did kill this tasks and I could not see any bigger change and therefor do not think they shall pring lag. But I had problem with the HTTL load for textures and did get better load times when I did disable it,

I think ban lines are bad, for that do not protect the privacy and if they are close to LL road system it is easy to get stuck in them and that kills a lot of the fun. I can understans securitu orbs protecting a skybox, but not orbs that protects the whole space by following users or push users, for me is this kind of the same to say it is mine land and therefor I am allowed to grief users here. I want the rules to bi like this: Ban lines go 96m in the sky, over that folk shall be allowed to pass, but it shall be okay to use orbs that kicks folks from a build/skybox, if you want higher privacy or bo not like the free spirit of main land you get or rent land on a private estate. So to answer my own question about orbs so do I think they shall be classed sa grief if they follow user and not is stationary protecting a smaller area.

I was flying around in mainland far over the ban-lines when a orb did start to follow me, "This is private property" did it say, "you has 10 seconds co comply". It took me 3 to 4 seconds to see and rad it and in the sky there is no border lines. So I was sent home, but my fluing things did get stuck there, I did try to get back to get it or try to fly of the land, but this time I was kicked home without warning. It did feel a bit like griefing, ban lines are around 80 meters high to protect privacy on the land, over that I think it shall be called griefing to use security orbs, this one did ban me even I not did see any sky box in the area. I do understand folks that use them to eject folks intruding in a sky box, but not from the empty sky where you not intrude on someones privacy. What do the rest of you think, securitu orbs, good or grief?

I has seen a lot of 4 legged avatars in SL and I know that the rig can be both deformed and ofsetted, but the question is how to do it in Blender. I hope some creator will take the time to make an tutorial for this.

Can some point me to a tutorial that show how to rig a no-human in Blender 2.63? I has seen tutorials how to rig a standars avatar (t-pose) with a standard rig, but as fast I edit rig to make it fit a table it gets totalt twisted. I has use both standard rigs and a rigg adepted for Blender 2.62 with ruened joints. I has a table, a rig I has posed to fit table and a BHV file with a "table pose", but I can not get it to work togheter :-/ P.S HELP!

If the land setting is "No Fly" and oldies fly there to faster be able to collect crystals, is this not unfair for new users that not know not know how to brake the land rules and is that not to break a rule? Cheating refers to an immoral way of achieving a goal (wiki), like you say to your friends that you can balance a pencil on your finger but then use glue to do so, I am sure you friends will say, "but you did cheat" even it not was an competition and there is no rules that forbids you to glue pencils on your fingers. I will even go so far that I see cheating in this way as a form of greiefing for it do destroy the fun of LR for other users, had this happen in a RP area there had not been any need for exact rules for folks to recognize it as an cheat, so why is it a discussion if this is cheats or not? This is cheating, the question is why it is accepted in LR. Remember that I did talk about the fun, LR was mainly made to be a fun place for newcomers to explore and give them the chance to get some Linden Dollars, how fair is it then when a oldie in a scripted vehicle that moves super fast do takes crystal in front of of a newcomer and then empty a whole area of crystals? Yes, I know now that it is no rules, but do we always need rules to be fair?

My idea is to re script the LR HUD, it can not be impossible to put an altimeter in it and let user be TP to nearest TP spot (die) if they fly, or to make speedometer that TP users back if they travel faster than normal running speed, or to make a position sensor that send folk back it they try to TP between different spots on the map. I jut see it as Linden Labs giving away linden dollars to cheaters while other folks has to pay or work hard to just get some few linden dollars, it just not feel good.

Cheating is not only when folk is breaking the rules, it is also when folk is getting unfair advantages over others by using some kind of help. Then can LL do rules in RL in same way folks put rules in sand boxes, just a sign at the start point saying, "No Flying, no speed boosters, no bot like scripts or other scripts giving unfair advantages over other users", then it is rules. I can even testing the texture for a rule sign if LL not has time nor the money :-)

I went back to the Linden Realms and ran a bit, but sometime it did feel a bit pointless when users on motorbikes did take all the crystals in a area 10 times faster than a normal user can do, others users did use supers peed to jump between spots with crystals so that no other user had any chance to collect crystals in those areas. - That is cheating, did I say to a user that did drive a fast motorbike and took crystals in front of me, "What is cheating" did he answer, "there is no rules that say you not can use vehicles or speed scripts here", he then did to start to call me bad and insulting things, I know I could Abuse Report him for that, but I did not do that. I did try to find an answer, but the only thing I found was an question in the FAQ about Linden Realms: Q: How do I report griefing/camping/cheating? A: Linden Realms is subject to the same rules, regulations, and guidelines as the rest of Second Life. In the Second Life Viewer, choose Help > Report Abuse to report abuse". But that is to no help, so it feels a bit like the Linden Realms is made for cheaters and not for new users or folk that want have some fun while getting some few linden dollars. So I wonder what the rules say, shall folk AR cheaters in LR or shall we just accept it as a fun killing bad thing we not can avoid? P.S. Sorry for the bad spelling, but I am not English and my education is not the best.

I am not mad that cheaters do get some lindens, what make me angry is that they do this in a way that destroys the fun from other users and the thing with LR is to have fun, I just hope the rock monsters gets better when path finding tools do come to main grid and that rock monsters then can take BOTs that running between two spots of crystalls in LR. Then is it so that a HUD that controlls an avatar so it does an spesific task is the samething as a BOT, and there is rules for BOTs and BOT use in Second Life, so I think all shall AR cheaters.

I think bot scripts that make a user run between two spots of crystals are bader than flyers or campers, they are not do that for fun, just to get lindens without do anything and without thinking on other users that uses LR for fun and to have something to do until friends log on. Linden can easy solve this by butting stonemonsters in some areas or can LL not get some trusted users to monitor the realms, it had been cool with a "Keeper of the realms"?

Yes, Lindens does a great job and they are often fast to help users. But when it is a Linden that owns the land (and some time objects) it can be another story and there is several lovely Linden lands that is filled with junk, I do not really mind users that do tasteful things, but when it is half rezed houses near the ground, sex toys in PG areas and boxes with clothes all around you can only feel sadness. I has examples on really (really really) bad examples in Linden lands where Lindens often are but nothing happens even I has made an AR with snap shots of sex acts on land that belongs to a Linden. What I know you do not break any rules if you build on open Linden land with build option enabled and with no auto return, as a friend told me, "It is the Lindens choice"; but Lindens must know that some users do use this to rez houses with sex beds in and that griefers can use Linden lands with no auto return for bad things. OMG, now I feel like a sour old man.

I has been around and seen Lindens lands that is open, where all is allowed to build with no auto return, folk has often built there and those areas is often full of junk and sometime starting points for griefers, but it is also common that this kind of Linden areas is used to rez sex beds even several areas is PG rated. I has made some Abuse report (AR) about sexual content and conduct in PG areas, but often do nothing happens if the AR is made in a sim (or parcel) owned by a Linden; so what shall users do when they see bad behavior or conduct in a Lindens land? For if a Linden allow sex beds in a PG zone with no autoreturn, then it feels a bit wrong to AR users that use this sex bed when it is in a Lindens (PG) land. Is it only I that see this as a bad thing or as problem? P.S. Sorry for the bad spelling or if I posted in wrong forum.
