I think people have to be careful creating alts. I don't think it is right to use them to spy for example but if people are using them for fun I don't see the harm in that.

So it seems to me women out number men 8-10 to 1 in Second Life. Is this because most of SL is about shopping and homemaking? Are the boys off playing War Games?

It is highly unlikely that a Linden Lab employee would behave in the manner in which you describe so I would not worry about it too much. You can go to his profile to see if it has the Linden Lab icon. If this person says he is an alt of Joshua Linden just tell him thank you very much but I will only do business with your main. :smileysurprised:
