  1. It's not the sole factor to be blamed, but it most certainly has earned its position as the primary hindrance. The agloritim needs to undergo some major tweaking to facilitate a perpetual growth of the Marketplace.
  2. We have seen the complaints. We have experienced the burden. The negative impact that this new Marketplace searcb engine has bestowed upon our earnings has been confirmed and it has moved beyond the point of debate. It's an irrefuable fact that it has done more harm than good. The old search engine was by no means perfect, but at least it was far from being this broken. Some people have experienced a fifty percent decline in their sales while others are experiencing even worse. I truly believe that this new search engine was released prior to its completion. Perhaps this was done because of a critical dead-line. Whatever the reason may be, it doesn't justify the harm that its implementation has caused thus far, to us suffering merchants. Some of us opted to sit back and observe its progress without voicing an opinion, hoping that it would somehow fix it self. Well, weeks have now passed and we are still in ruins, as far as our sales are conserned. Some people may not care much about this because they gain most of their income in-world, but I will kindly ask these fortunate individuals to refrain from diluting the severity of this burdensome issue because we don't all share the same luck. Some merchants rely exclusively on Marketplace sales, thus this issue aught be given the attention it rightfully deserves. In essence, I believe it would be best for us to go back to the old Marketplace search engine until this one has been fixed. It's a broken product and this fact is quite evident. How much longer must we suffer before something gets done?
  3. Sales are plummetting and front pages are still flooded with inferior and unrelated products. How is this update suppose to be considered a positive thing? It seems rather broken to me. It's been a week now and some listings haven't moved from their top position.
  4. Profits are still at an all time low and alot of poorly performing products are being ranked higher than their more successful counterparts. We appreciate the effort thus far but more needs to be done.
  5. Alot of merchants have been suffering great losses since the launch of the new Marketplace. It was clearly launched too soon.I really hope it all gets resolved soon. :matte-motes-frown:
  6. I hope all this gets resolved within the next 24 hours, because alot of people are losing out on precious sales right now.
  7. Something has to be done. Please fix the algorithm, Linden Labs. Nothing positive will emanate from the way things currently are.
  8. The severity of this issue is slowly coming to light. I am sure most merchants have been experiencing sharp declines in their sales since this release. You can either fix this system at a very rapid pase, or revert to the old sysetm until all the issues plaguiing this one have been rectified.
  9. Pamela, have your sales not dwindled since the upgrade? I would typically see your houses on the front page prior to the upgrade, but now when I search "house" I cannot spot even one. This keyword bug has flooded the front page with products that were previously unheard of due to poor performance. The marketplace before the upgrade was by no means perfect, but it certainly wasn't this bad either.
  10. Not entirely, but to a great extent, Kelly. This needs to be fixed.
  11. You are correct, Wizzy. However, the typical buyer would be unaware of the need to put the word between quotation marks, so albeit effective, your suggestion doesn't consitute a practical resolution to the issue at hand. Why would they make it function this way? I cannot see how this change benefits anyone, to be honest.
  12. What Ray said is very true and very important. If you look at the Best Selling page after searching "house," you will notice that's it's littered with avatar attachments. This will most certainly kill the market, therefore an effort to quiickly implement a resolution to this burdensome issue should be paramount. Quite frankly, the old marketplace was functioning better than this one. I hope all these issues will be rectified by the end of this week, otherwise detrimental consequences may arrise.
  13. I have a request made from the 29th of Jan and it is still at the "In Progress" stage. Is anyone else experiencing extremely long delays such as this? If yes, do you know how the process can be expidited?
  14. Hmmm, I wonder whats causing this to happen? Does anyone have any possible answers?
  15. Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in their daily sales starting from around the start of August to now?
  16. Hello Pamela, would you say that sales tend to decline this time of year for home builders being one yourself and all?
  17. Yes I will agree that the overal performance of the marketplace has depleted since the implementation of it's new layout but there had been a noticable slump in sales during August and this thread is addressing that particular matter. So does anyone know the reason behind this abrupt decline?
  18. Does anyone know why there has been such a sharp decline in sales over the past few days? Or is anyone else experiencing this problem for that matter?
  19. Thank you Brooke, we are looking forward to having this problem resolved expeditiously so things can get back to normal (atleast semi normal).
  20. Most of us woke up expecting the SLM login and search problem to be resolved and some were even lucky enough to log in the first time they tried and everything seemed fine for the most part. THEN (like me) they tried logging in a few minutes later and the PROBLEM WAS BACK, they couldn’t log in and freebies flooded the top of all their pages. This cycle has been going on for too long and LL should never allow it to go on for this long as the financial consequences that it bears are evidently too costly for both us merchants and LL. This madness must end promptly!
  21. You see that’s the problem Pamela, it’s so unpredictable because one moment it is borked and the next it is functioning properly. So no matter who you are you WILL be affected by this and to say you are immune to its impact would only make you seem delusional. It’s about time that the Lindens resolve the issue as it has been going on for too long and it bears way to many financial consequences on us merchants (Unless you sell solely freebies of course).
  22. The first page of every item category is flooded with highly rated FREEBIES (or VERY cheap products that werent there a couple days prior). To make it even worst its the same products poping up at the top of all the category pages. Seriously now, hat is going on here?
  23. Yeah, an error like this should never be allowed to happen. *sigh*
  24. Yes, you will be able to go to my store but you will not be able to log into the marketplace. Give it a shot and see if you are able to do so.
  25. Most people are unable to log into the marketplace and it is because of this why I came to this conclusion. Give it a try and see if you can log in and then share your experience.
