This 👆. I mean, everyone has standards and that's okay. But if a person states in their profile that they don't voice, just enjoy the mystery of it. One of the most beautiful aspects of sl IMHO is that you can (sometimes) interact with a deeper part of a person's persona. I mean, how often do these people really meet and marry in rl? If I was into the romantic aspect of sl, I wouldn't even try. It would just break the fantasy. But everyone is different I suppose. I do my own thing and hope I'm not ruining everything for someone else. I recently took all my rl stuff off my profile, because it was giving people who have had the unfortunate experience of being stalked into rl from sl anxiety. 🤣 i was literally getting im's from worried people when I was offline. Voice is harmless, but where does it end? It's pretty controlling to force yourself on people by demanding voice. Makes a person seem anxious and needy from the get go. Edit: untreated psychopaths in sl are more worrisome to me than fellow eccentrics I come across. I meet more people in sl who are as wonderfully weird as me, that the chance of meeting total psychos is a pretty good trade off.

Sometimes if I think that the person is stuck in multiple ims, I request voice because I get bored waiting for a reply but also feel rude just teleporting away 😄. My time is limited and valuable....to me. Lol If they don't want to voice i ask them why they teleported me if they didn't want to hang out? Usually this type of person is alt tabbed or in many different conversations. If I value the relationship, I'll say nothing and treat them with the same respect and catch up with all my friends who are online and also message my rl friends and log into discord for the time I have before I have to get back to work. At least then my avi is physically present 😜

I prefer using voice with slow typers or if I'm doing and activity where I need to use the movement keys and can't type easily. When I meet someone for the first time, I ask them how they prefer to communicate and stick to that. When someone prefers to only voice, i respect that. They must have their reasons. But most people don't like to voice at all.
