  1. I'm just curious, what would be the desired goal? I can see that traffic is still a very important factor in SL. I myself search places by traffic 99% of times. There are a lot of bots generating traffic. If parcels in the same region suddenly have traffic shared I can see it happen that those bots are all packed into the same tiny parcel without anyone being able to spot them and other parcels would still profit from the traffic. Unless I misunderstood the desired outcome.
  2. Catwa Pro head owner here. I've noticed the same, but only to a very slight extend.
  3. I'm looking at the quote above and I can't really be convinced of the opposite Oh, that's how we qualify for discussions nowadays? Damn, I've only been on SL for 15 years. Can we use other metrics? Like, how much money we've put into SL over that time? Or how much time online we've spent?
  4. We're trying to come up with ideas for solutions for an existing problem. I got what your opinion is, from both posts. It would be great if you could not only contribute negativity. Really
  5. I think it could also work with incentives. Example: A body creator could apply directly at LL, willing to make their dev kits public, and in return they get prominently promoted, making them kind of semi-official SL bodies.
  6. This is actually a sad fact that we've come to the point where people can't create clothes even for themselves if they're using probably any the most commonly used bodies. Creativity put to a stop. You may tell them to just use a default body and they can rig all the clothes they want, but if you're honest to yourself you know that you wouldn't want to switch away from the body that has become your favorite over the years and that you've bought tons of clothes for. People may not even get a response when they apply for a dev kit, which is also sad. Body creators have the right to not even give the kit to anyone (even though the kits might have been shared lots of times already, leaving people the choice to either violate rules or just not create clothes), but in my opinion being this restrictive is just not correlating with the spirit of SL.
  7. Yeah I actually did mean the audio stream. I manually press play when I go to a club. As far as media streams are concerned I don't think I've ever had them enabled at all/used this feature.
  8. I fear this is drifting off topic but I'm still curious. My main reason to keep autoplay disabled has always been the fact that you're connecting directly to the parcel media stream. According to my knowledge your IP is exposed in this step. I would also assume that, in case you've got autoplay enabled, there's a certain time frame between your teleport arrival and the stream request. Therefore I imagine it possible that someone with malicious intent, owning a high traffic place, could just match your TP arrival with the request and add you to a list. They can have an algorithm, saying, if there is nobody else on the parcel the hit chance is 100%. In other cases x% and increasing if caught twice. And it would be impossible to do anything against it. Am I wrong?
  9. I actually like the idea to bring so many shops together so that people may get to know ones outside of their bubbles. That said my list of favourite stores hasn't increased due to this event and I haven't bought anything either. I also found it stressful wanting to get done with looking at all of the shops on the first day before the big lag would come. I oftentimes lost orientation and needed to doublecheck I wasn't walking into the wrong direction lol
  10. Not sure if this helps you but bringing up the friends list is probably the most oftenly repeated action that I perform. Therefore I've mapped the shortcut for the friends list (CTRL+Shift+F) to the caps lock key with the help of autohotkey. Makes life so much easier.
  11. You have several instruments to limit the presence of residents on your land, so if bots are really this big of an issue to you then there you go. If you don't use these instruments out of convenience then the personal impact of being annoyed by a bot can't be really this huge. I don't claim any authority but this thread is open for discussion, and in my humble opinion the individually felt annoyance brought to you by any resident spending 8 seconds on your land, while you could prevent this by your land's privacy rules, is NOTHING compared to the big picture here. I'm calling this out, and if you're blaming me for this then please do.
  12. What I find funny about this thread is that the main concern expressed about bots is "I own my precious land and how dare bots assuming the right to tp here for 8 seconds and annoy me." It's funny because like THIS IS YOUR MAIN CONCERN?!?! Seriously? In 2021? It's not about the fact that bots could gather lots and lots of data about you and everyone on SL? When are you online? Do you have a job IRL? What sims do you visit? Who do you hang out with? Etc.
