Is anyone here into the stock market? Meta stock is down also Matterport (3d imagine company). How do you guys think this will impact SL if at all? A lot of people are looking at Secondlife again after it was acquired by Tilia in 2020 ^^. Exciting times!

Thank you, that means a lot to me. I really had no idea why regulars were being so mean spirited. In fairness, I also didn't know it is frowned on here to cross post. I usually post on reddit because I'm a trader and that's where my community is ^^. We usually cross post through different platforms because being up to date is very important so I guess I have that habit. I won't cross post again. I think before I post in the future I should do a group search to make sure the topic hasn't already been covered instead of verbally vomiting up my stream of consciousness haha.

I only started last week pretty much and have been accused of being a troll, a lier etc. I'm on a couple of other social media platforms and it was the first time to have shade thrown at me haha. Other than that one time on Facebook when an American called me obnoxious for calling an aubergine, an aubergine 🍆. Apparently they're called egg plants in America haha 😄 Anyway, everyone seems fine, some awesome, some self righteous, you know....the usual 😜

I know right? I think the negative comments seem to stick in our minds more than the positive ones. Just try to ignore the negs. We really have no idea what is going on with them in RL. I'm pretty new to the forum and noticed it straight off the bat. Just ignore it. If you figure out how to block individuals from seeing forum posts or commenting can you im me please 🙂?

I think Meta is going to be a massive flop. It's pretty much a joke already among trading circles. It's like SL except without the freedom of expression and tons of advertising. All of your behavior in world will be monitored and the information sold on. I'll stick with SL 😜

So for me, SL is total freedom and fantasy. When I'm in SL, I love meeting people and hearing about what makes them tick. What their hobbies, passions etc are. The only part of their RL I'm interested in is maybe where they live, food, hobbies, interests etc. I think maybe I'm a bit weird because when I asked about voice chat, some people said they needed to confirm gender through voice chat and I just don't see the point. I come to SL to do things and experience Sims I just can't in RL. I assume everyone's AV is not an accurate depiction of who they are in RL but rather an aspect of their personality they are exploring or a piece of art. I love the variety of AVs. Am I the only one who doesn't really care about how much the avatar aligns with the person's RL identity? I mean, I only interact with them in SL anyway. SL is very separate for me. Maybe I compartmentalize too much 🤷‍♀️. I heard the word "catfish" thrown about. So do you think the avatar should somewhat be in alignment with RL? Do you think it's wrong for people in SL to fabricate an online identity and then have a flirty relationship with other AVs? Do you feel that people use SL trick others into romantic relationships? Do you think they are just having fun and exploring their sexuality or other fantasies in this way? For me, I have found covid lockdowns really tough and it really helps to travel and explore in SL. I'm not into anything too heavy in SL though. But I do like flirting. I don't care what gender the person is in real life as long as the AV has the right gender for me because I will never meet them in RL 😄 What do you think? 🤔 I never thought about it until I read the comments on the voice chat thread. I have no problem with middle aged men pretending to be young women. ^^

I've heard Discord mentioned a couple of times but I've never used it myself. Do residents use discord to chat in SL instead of using chat inside SL itself? What's the story with Discord?

I was in a moderate level public sandbox the other day editing my avatar's appearance. Is it okay to do this? Well apparently I wasn't alone because I suddenly found myself trapped in a cage and shot up into the sky with another player messaging me that I was a pervert (my avatar doesn't even have genitals), and how DARE I edit my appearance in a public sandbox...disgusting. Is this normal? Also, where are players supposed to edit their avatar's appearance if not in a public sandbox 🤔?
